Re: The Secret Life of Board Games
Oh great, now the next time I play one of these games I'm going to have the character dialogue in my head AND the dialogue for the pieces in there too

Re: The Secret Life of Board Games
Very funny video. Loved the character on the Monopoly board and his "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT???" line when the D6 landed...
As Yahtzee said, there is no middle finger big enough.

Awesome video - great idea and typically LRRxcellent execution.
And I'm gonna steal an idea from the Facebook people: have a recurring series of "The Secret Life of..." and Ronnie makes cameos in these vids.

Re: The Secret Life of Board Games
I feel like I complain too much about everything these days and forget to mention the positives, but still, I'm not fond of this video. It feels a little directionless - either a series of stand-alone scenes or a stronger story would have worked well, but this fell somewhere inbetween. It reminds me of improvisational comedy; there are plenty of funny examples of the kind of thing that these characters might say, but it doesn't build up to anything and the ending comes rather abruptly. I can easily imagine Drew Carey waving you back to your seats at the end of the scene.
Also, your voice acting is less convincing than your physical acting - partly just due to facial expressions and body language being a big part of acting, I'm sure, but there are a few lacklustre deliveries in there as well.

Yeah, I hate to say it, but I'm with TJA as well. That's kind of the reason I asked the first question; this feels like a sketch designed around product placement.
Although I liked the stinger.

You know, personally, I really liked it. It's nice to see you guys try something different, and succeed.
Also, of all things, I noticed the sound was really good in this one, especially foley. Good stuff.

I don't know what that game was, but it seems like something that's make a good christmas present in my circle. I'm gonna have to pause the video's opening to try and read that box now.
(I wonder how these guys would've reacted to a Munchkin pawn... those 'work' in any game, y'know.)

Re: The Secret Life of Board Games
I liked it, but I can understand the above comments. I feel like it could have been recurring sections in a new rapidfire series (hint, hint) or something. Not that I'm, you know, pushing you to do that or anything >.>
Re: The Secret Life of Board Games
I really liked this one. Graham has been playing a lot of jerks recently, but he's really good at it! I liked the changes of focus instead of cuts. I liked that I didn't have to understand how the game works to understand the jokes.
Paul did sound a lot quieter than everyone else though. I had trouble hearing a few of his lines.

Legend of...what? *watches video again*
Oh.
Oh my.
They made a Drizzt Do'Urden board game.
Why did they make a Drizzt Do'Urden board game?
WHY DID THEY MAKE A DRIZZT DO'URDEN BOARD GAME?!

Re: The Secret Life of Board Games
Because when it all comes down to it Drizzt is part of Forgotten Realms, which is the setting for D&D and quite a few other games. So it's sort of a given. The books where awesome thou.

Well, yes, I know he's a part of it. But a whole board game??? Just about the one guy?

It's prob just a way to get all the little fan-boys and girls to buy something. Like me. But then I'm a Forgotten Realms fan-girl not just a Drizzt fan.

Re: The Secret Life of Board Games
I haven't played the Drizzt one but I've played another one, Castle Ravenloft, which was a lot of fun. Now if I ever play it again I'm going to be imagining dialogue the whole time, not sure if I should curse you or thank you for that. Anyway, I loved the video. It would be cool if you did that for a whole game, just have one person per character and improvising talking crap throughout the game.
Oh, and I almost forgot - was I the only one that found this one to be very quiet? Once I turned it up a bit all of the volume was level with each other and sounded fine, but when it finished and the ad music at the end started it was surprisingly loud by comparison.

Re: The Secret Life of Board Games
I really enjoyed this video. I also think that if the idea was to be revisited, it'd work quite well for small sketches during a Rapidfire episode.

Re: The Secret Life of Board Games
I too support continuing this concept, perhaps in a series of Rapidfire sketches.
