Two things, I apologize to the thespians for my impure thoughts during this.

Secondly, am I the only one who thought this would lead to MORE stalking of people who leave the app on not less?

Wait, we're supposed to apologize for impure thoughts? O man, I got some work to do.

It's not fair, the crew is way to sexy.

Bob from Apple never said that was a negative, just something you COULD do.

OK, so we all know the rule, right? Once you play the same role twice, that's your role forever. James is now always the cop, Dale is the devil, etc.

Tally and Jer, I'm sorry for your typecasting.

Also, I liked this video a lot. Short but effective.

So does the video mean that Apple has compiled a comprehensive list of sex positions?
Totally accurate, except for all the times I'm not.

I liked how the friend calling Jer was George Gordon, good call back.

I must thank you for this video. Partially because I loved the video, especially the 'Game Center Without Everyone Who Is Better Than Me', but mostly for reminding me I have the latest Game of Thrones episode to watch.

Yeah, and my phone still has Graham listed under that name from this shoot, which took place months ago. Every so often I'll get a text and think "who the hell is George Gordan and why is he tex- OH, riiiight." I really ought to change it back.

Well, it seems as though the iPedoBear and DestroyLRR apps finally have some company with the Find My Friends Who Are Doing It app.

Actually, if you want the apps shown in this video for your iPhone or iPad, go to these pages and bookmark them to your home screen:

Find My Friends (Who are Doing it)
http://somewhatnifty.com/fmf/findmyfriends.html

Messages (Only From People I Like)
http://somewhatnifty.com/fmf/messages.html

Game Center (Without Everyone Who is Better then Me)
http://somewhatnifty.com/fmf/gamecenter.html

I made these pages so that we could show a real iPhone with the apps. We didn't end up using them in that form (we used the large versions of the icons instead), but maybe someone will enjoy having them. They won't actually work as apps, of course, but you can fool your friends into thinking that you are on the cutting edge of Apple product development :).

thought of this right after watching it. "Find my friends who are doing it will also alert you if you attempt to call a friend who is doing it. It will then ask you if you would like to call them anyway, or just listen in. If the listening in feature is activated, the authorities will immediately be sent to your location, as you are clearly in need of some serious mental help."
BTW great video this week guys!

Random thoughts:

1) "15 minutes?" "WHAT?!" - Hilarious :D

2) James really needed those binoculars, huh?

3) ...and if you leave your iPhone, say, face down or face up instead of completely upright against your nightstand, it's going to turn into "Find My Friends Whose Neighbours are Doing It"

4) Another gold stinger.

Good stuff this week!

Paul, you're always so awesome at explaining things. This had almost a "iPhone apps: The Whole Story" feel to it. :)

Love it when companies solve problems you didn't even know you had.

But I've been noticing something the last few weeks. Most of the videos these days are around 4 minutes, often less, whereas previously they were more around 5 minutes I recall. Is this a conscious choice or just coincidence (Wow, thats almost a podcast question)

Your first paragraph answers your second. You didn't even know how much you were yearning to have that extra minute of spare time every week, until LRR solved that problem for you.

Thanks to Paul, I now have that icon on my phone. Good stuff.

Also, when Graham tweeted that he had made an animation of two stick figures humping, I actually paused to wonder if it was for a video, or you know, just for fun.

I thought his name was Bob Fromapple, and I didn't question it because characters having silly names isn't out of LRR's ordinary. Whoops.

Also, having funny videos isn't out of your ordinary either. Good video, you guys. This one was really nice.

What I like is that the 'messed up' one is earning five stars. It's messed up in a goooooooood way.

I remember the crew commenting upon the way commodoreHUSTLE has changed since S1 and I think it applies here as well. Comedy works better when it's taut and well-paced, so if you don't have an idea that will carry you for seven minutes (or whatever) there's no reason to pad it out. I think they still have a "minimum length" in mind, but it's gotten shorter, and if they can't carry something for that amount of time it doesn't get made.

Basically that. I think we've just gotten better at editing down our scripts and videos into the most funny form, and even if that makes them shorter, it makes them stronger. In our opinion.

So, we're not consciously making them shorter, for the sake of being shorter. It's a side-effect of other conscious efforts.
