The other reason Storm Crow is so busted and should not be legal in any format is that you can exile it to pay Force of Will's alt cost.

The name Ghost Dad for Obzedat, Ghost Council was originally the nickname for Ghost Council of Orzhova which came from a deck with the ghost council and a bunch of spirits, thus making the curve-topping ghost council the Ghost Dad.

The biggestpig would probably be the Krosan Tusker - it's 6/5!

Also, I think the question "what's the worst card you'll run" is way more interesting in constructed, where cards only end up in your deck because you really wanted them there.
I kinda suspect those would mostly be combo cards, though.

Man... evidently I need to have a Commander deck before Calgary Expo if I want to play the crew since they don't seem to play Standard o_O

The only thing I remember about alliances was that it was considered a pretty powerful set at the time. The one card that comes to mind is lake of the dead(or maybe it was river, not sure). It's a special land that taps for one black, but you can tap and sacrifice it for 4 black.

I find James' ability to pull packs out of hammerspace far too amusing.

On the nickname question: I think that Obzedat is nicknamed ghost dad because it's a ghost and his name is Obze-DAD.

Oh and one of the nicknames I like you didn't mention was Cinderella for cinder elemental although it is a reprint.

Ah excellent. I'm having difficulty making a Commander deck that doesn't come down too far on either side of "too annoyingly strong for Commander" or "Funny but laughably weak"

The "Ghost Dad" name seems obvious to me. Ghost Dad was a 1990 movie starring Bill Cosby. The original Ravnica block had Ghost Council of Orzhova, whose art had one central figure. You could say that this guy was the "Ghost Dad" of Orzhova.

While looking at this, I noticed that several Orzhov cards in GuildPact, including "Ghost Dad," had what I'll call "proto-Extort":
Douse in Gloom
Agent of Masks
Blind Hunter
Souls of the Faultless

Ghost Dad was the name of a deck from the Ravnica/Kamigawa standard season that used Ghost Council's spirit subtype to generate card advantage with Tallowisp and apply pressure with Thief of Hope. Obzedat inherited the nickname from the original, although personally I call it Ghost Granddad because he is a bit bigger.

I've got guys!

Someone on Twitter told me.
The actual Ghost Dad is "Revenant Patriarch" a Spirit from the original Ravnica block. Typically the old Ghost Council was also in the deck, and somehow the name slipped from the Patriarch to the Ghost Council, and now to the new Ghost Council.

That's what I thought they were going to cover and I was kind of excited for a moment. At the moment for me, that card is Foundry Street Denizen, I suspect.

Also, I've never actually heard Gideon referred to as Chad. People where I play call Gideon, Champion of Justice "Pin-Up Gideon", because he looks like Mister February in the Planeswalker Calendar.

I call Duskmantle Seer Double-Bob as well and I call Beckon Apparition Bacon Apparition but mostly I just call cards what their names are.

EDIT: Oh and for Limited, try not to read too much into the contents of the first few packs, don't get to your 2nd pick and see a bunch of great Boros cards and think 'Boros is WIIIIIDE open!' because the person next to you could've opened Aurelia, even 3 picks in if you're still finding good cards from one guild they may have just been stacked packs

The Kjeldoran Escort, we used to call the Puppy Riders. (Appropriate, since you see the pictures.) I'm looking forward to when they crack a pack of Chronicles, what with the Cuombajj Witches, The Elder Dragon Legends: Arcades Sabboth, Nicol Bolas, Palladia- Mors, and Vaevictus Asmadi and my favorite Green Card: Concordant Crossroads. Also, Voodoo Doll. :D

And hey- someone is selling an Arabian Nights Booster pack for $389.00 on E-bay!
