I want that card, and I want to equip it with the wolfhunters quiver for the ultimate Ikea gun.

I just gotta say...Murko? Darkles McDark Dark would have been the only option more telling of his guild.
I feel that this card is definitely going to be strong if unanswered, but a lot of things bounce off it in the air or at least prevent it from grinding you four times. I'm excited to see it in the wild.

Correct. No, for true insane Ikea Gun status, you want to give it double strike.
Re: Official Dragon's Maze Spoiler Card
You're still thinking too small. I'm pretty sure there's supposed to be at least a Cloudstone Curio in there somewhere.

Re: Official Dragon's Maze Spoiler Card
Why do they keep putting every sufficiently heavy mill cards at five mana?
It's like they don't want mill to be competitive or something.

Re: Official Dragon's Maze Spoiler Card
The main reason they do that is so that mill is not too competitive. Most other decks are creature based and if mill could set up at the same speed then the other decks would have no edge.

Re: Official Dragon's Maze Spoiler Card
@Silverhawk: I actually agree. This card sounds more amazing than it is; I'd expect it to shave off 10 cards for every swing. Even if you can get it down on turn 5, and swinging in unopposed from turn 6, that's just underwhelming at the five mana spot. It's not bad, but it's not the two-turn bomb finisher I think it needs to be for that cost.

Wait a minute, wouldn't House Dimir be concerned about setting of fire alarms? I mean, they're supposed to be the sneaky guild composed of spies and assassins, right?

On the video front, I did laugh at the reveal of James
Also with the card animations, did you guys do them or do WotC do them?

Re: Official Dragon's Maze Spoiler Card
We do them
WotC just sends a card and lets us do whatever we want.

Re: Official Dragon's Maze Spoiler Card
I thought it was great the way the text kept on updating as the rules got more and more outrageous I like the fact that this was more like a cH vid rather than a straight up "here's the card and what it does" explanation

Do you have a problem with Jace, Memory Adept too? He is a five drop that mills exactly ten (I agree with you math as most decks run near 24 lands (+ or - 3 on average) ie 2 in 5 cards are lands). I have played against really good mill decks if the rest of the deck works then this guy can do some serious damage (I have a friend who has a Jace obssession so I know what milling is). It really comes down to deck vs. deck and although mill is typically at a disadvantage, it is a very powerful strategy. I have lost a lot of games to my friend because their deck is excellent at eliminating my threats.

Re: Official Dragon's Maze Spoiler Card
From what I can see, the Dimir aren't strictly about the Big Mills Plan. Dimir tactics are all about crippling your opponent with discards, removal, crowd control, and other shenanigans until they have no choice but to sit and watch while you either chip their life away or mill them out.
Take Consuming Aberration for example. Sure, it grinds like a beast, but it's also a potent beatstick that pumps up as you grind. This maze runner chap is even better at grinding, but he's also doing a bit of damage and potentially triggering Cipher. Lazav and Wight of Precinct Six don't actually mill at all, but they can become monsters through a combination of spot removal (a la Grisly Spectacle) and lucky milling.
Imagine your opponent desperately throwing chump blockers in front of your little 2/4 vampire, and you have an idea of how House Dimir rolls.
Not that I'm affiliated with them in any way. If such a guild existed, I would certainly not be a member.
