And don't worry about the microsoft stories. If they keep giving you material why shouldn't you go with it? It's what The Daily Show did during the Bush years in America.

Also really Square another tease for us FFVII fans?! Come on!

Another great checkpoint!

I got the date for the Dwarf Fortress marked in my agenda already.

So if I don't die before 2033 all will be fine :)

They just got another $16 out of me for the steam version of FF7.

As a former employee of The 3DO Company, I'm going to have to register objection against the console price graph. All it shows is launch prices. It doesn't show console prices over time. The Panasonic FZ-1 (the first 3DO console) did indeed launch for $699, but dropped to $499 less than a year later. The FZ-1 was later replaced by the FZ-10, and compatible models from LG (nee Goldstar) and Sanyo also appeared at competetive prices.

Also: What constitutes a, "phenomenally bad investment?" 3DO managed to accumulate an impressive library of games before it was eclipsed by the subsequent console generation (PS2 et al).

And finally, this may be an almost-appropriate context to flog my Let's Play videos, wherein I and my cohort play and comment on 3DO titles.

Oh, another point about that graph: It lists the Sega 32X as a separate console. It wasn't. It was an add-on for the Sega Genesis -- a stop-gap upgrade to extend the life of the Genesis (which didn't work very well) while the Saturn was being finished -- and as such probably shouldn't have its own entry as a console.
