The Dark

Shooting this was a new one for us. You'll see why in the eventual Loading Time.

For now, enjoy The Dark

Loved it. Amazing how much emotion was conveyed from the movement of Graham's NV lights.

It felt like a couple of good jokes that got stretched for time sorry Paul.

Loved it. Was the video file noticeably small? Assuming video compression works how I think it does.

You conveyed the dual emotions of extreme pain and sudden rage so well during the opening that I knew instinctively that you were banging your shins before you mentioned it. Only banging your shins elicits that specific response.

Great sound too! The sounds are, I feel, particularly important when there are no visuals to accompany them.

Also the line of 'either her poop or your blood' was particularly funny to me. All around good show.

So are there actually multi-vision night vision goggles, or was it just a Splinter Cell reference?

Ooh, it's a darkness/blackout sketch. These are always great, and the LRR version is no exception. Well acted by both sides, and the sound effects were well placed without running the joke into the ground. I did think it was a little weird how the night vision lights made it look like the characters were facing more towards the camera, and not each other, but I figured that's just part of the trade off for getting the scene to work at all.

Yeah, this was... Not the best, but you can't hit a perfect game every time. I give it a 7, still. :)

Was the point of the sketch to show off your sound mixing prowess? If so, mission accomplished.

Even with night vision, I was amazed at Graham's character's ability to run around in a panic with bats in his hair without banging his shins on anything.

I found it very funny. I find people being assaulted by animals funny. Like how in the also Blackout sketch of Friends where Ross gets kittied on the balcony.

I'm very much looking forward to the Loading Time for this one. I'm assuming you just used some prop goggles with spots painted in chroma key friendly colors, and the video is basically just the alpha mask cleaned up and tinted green

Well that was clearly a Splinter Cell reference. Multi spectrum NV goggles do exist, but they don't use the 3 lens configuration, they just have different sensors in them.

If you want the fancy multi-lens type, here are some panoramic goggles, that also have the added bonus of making the wearer look pretty terrifying.

I loved the effect with the goggles. It especially made me laugh in the stinger. It's amazing how much your brain can infer from one point of movement on a human along with their voice.
It kind of made me think of the robots from WALL-E, just in how the emotions are recognizable even with only minimal visual cues. 8)

This one was really well made. Felt a bit slow near the end, I think it could've been a bit shorter. Nevertheless, brilliant as always.
