At Least You're Not Dead

Postby Graham » 28 Jan 2005, 18:30

After a couple false starts in shooting, we're very pleased to have this video finished.

This was all shot on location in Andy's front hall, and this time around we pre-recorded his voice and music, so it sounds way better.

This was all, of course, written and performed by Andy, who still claims he can't play piano. He even did the intro, which we think, is pretty sweet.

It's surprisingly difficult to lip-sink to yourself;
I look like a bad ventriloquist act. :D

But you guys did a fantastic job slapping the whole mess together! :)

I liked the little asides.
"I swear it," said the other mother. "I swear it on my own mother's grave."

"Does she have a grave?" asked Coraline.

"Oh yes," said the other mother. "I put her in there myself. And when I found her trying to crawl out, I put her back."

Very nice. The occasional musical number is a great way to break up the videos a little Very classy--very Monty-Python. God only knows how repeditive these vids would be if it were written exclusively by shifty sketch'ers like myself.

Yeah, well it's kind of owing to the fact that you're apparently some kind of freaking genius.

So it's to be expected.

Wow, good job Andy!

I really enjoyed it!

And I'll add here, since there's no thread for the other two vids (LRR intro and puppets), that I really enjoyed those as well. Poor Koala bear!

Oh, and I cast my vote to Prime Minister Beaver for Greatest Canadian, eh?

Andy reminds me a lot of Donald O’Connor, especially his character in Singing in the rain.

My father saw the video and -loved- it. He said it was worthy of Noel Coward or Tom Lehrer.

Mad pr0ps!

THREAD REVIVAL!!!! OOOOH!!!

I was browsing through LRR vids today... saw this... clicked it... listened.

And now I have come to the conclusion that I really want this played at my funeral. REALLY want it played at my funeral... really really want it played.

[Also, with LRRs new-found fantasticness with videos maybe you guys could get Andy back and redo a few of his songs with funky videoness, but make sure you do this one. Now that's something I'd like to see, who's with me on this one?]

This video is incredible. I need to show it to one of my brothers, the theatre geek - he'll absolutely love it.
