New LRR Store
February 20th, 2011

Hey Everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know that we have revamped the LRR store! Thanks to you guys, over the last couple of years the LRR store has grown from a nice sideline to an important part of LRR’s business. In an effort to keep this going and to support future projects, LRR has transitioned to a new piece of store software. Some of the advantages of this new system include:

Order History: If you want, you can now make an account with the store so that it remembers your order history and mailing address.

Shipping Quotes: Instead of the previous rough shipping estimates (Canada, US, International), the new store is in direct communication with Canada Post and will deliver exact shipping quotes based on your mailing address. This means reduced shipping costs for most people!

Inventory Control: The new store automatically keeps track of everything in our massive shipping warehouse (AKA James’ office) and will prevent you from ordering anything out of stock or not available.

In the backend, the new store should make it much easier for us to add and manage new products. For example, check out the Starburst and Desertbus Crest shirts now available on the store page and the all new Patches section with awesome fabric patches for all your accessorizing needs. In addition, in the coming weeks we hope to add a downloads section for you to purchase and download some of the awesome music from your favorite LRR videos.

As always, please let me know if you are having any issues, or if you have any questions or comments.

Cheers,

Paul

  1. This looks great, especially the change in shipping. It’s a little painful to pay almost half the cost of a t-shirt in shipping. And it’s nice to see that some things have been added/restocked.

…Except it looks like it costs $11.33 to ship a shirt or dvd to Ontario, which is more than before. I know Canada Post sucks, but I didn’t expect it to cost that much to ship something light and small. Would it be possible to add a cheaper rate that doesn’t include tracking?

Of course, I’ll be getting stuff from the store regardless, ’cause it’s awesome. *waits eagerly for Creepy Doll shirt* But an option that’s easier on my nearly-empty wallet would be appreciated.

  4. @Sarah – We feel your pain, but this is what Canada Post charges. Canada Post regular is not tracked and, as far as I know, is the cheapest shipping available within Canada. If you can find a cheaper way to send a DVD from Victoria, BC to your address, please let us know. ([email protected])

  5. A (long) while back, Matt had posted an image of a LRR window cling on his car. Any chance those might be available at some point?

  9. @Paul: Alright, it’s just Canada Post being sucky. I’d thought you could use small packet, but the website claims that’s only for outside of Canada. Oh well.

On another note, it’s kinda strange seeing a part of the site that isn’t completely blue. It’s not bad, just unusual. So much white! 😛
