Wait why are you talking about Preordain? That hasn't been in standard since last summer. I thought maybe you'd made the video ages ago, but then you're talking about Snapcasters? Stop confusing us!

Most hilarious thing to do in a Commander game:
Cast Massacre Wurm the turn after someone thinks they've won by casting Storm Herd.

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread yet?
I think the problem is really more getting Viridian Revels out quickly. When this deck works perfectly, then you get LC and a Viridian Revel or two out right away, and then all the artifact hate in the rest of the deck keeps you drawing at a good pace. But if you empty your hand before getting a Rev...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread yet?
So I'm toying with an RG artifact destruction deck... Basically, turn their crap into artifacts with Liquimetal Coating and destroy it with Manic Vandals, Oxidda Scrapmelters, Glissa's Scorns, etc., and drawing cards with Viridian Revel while you do it. When it works, it works well, but it doesn't s...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread yet?
The pre-release I went to was fun times. Opened a Sun Titan, Quicksilver Amulet, Rune-Scarred Demon and and Flameblast Dragon. Actually managed to quicksilver out the Demon on turn 5 and tutor for the Sun Titan to put out turn 6. That was a good game. Also got a Primordial Hydra but no other worthwh...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread yet?
There's lots of fun big infect creatures like Skittles and Swarmlord, but I've found that the most effective infect strategy is just to sneak through small, cheap, evasive infect creatures and pump them whenever they're not blocked. Throwing all the Vines of Vastwoods and Mutagenic Growths you can d...

Back in my day all we had was Millstone. Millstone and Howling Mine and all milling decks basically had to be discard decks too.

Decimator Web deck anyone?
I mostly love that card because whoever designed it knows what the word "decimate" actually means.

Most annoying deck I've lost to recently: Using Liquimetal Coating to turn all your permanents into artifacts and destroying all your everything with Manic Vandals, Shatters, Glissa's Scorns, Oxidda Scrapmelters, Crushes and Hoardsmelter Dragons, while drawing all the while from Viridian Revels.

Re: First Pick: Cracking Some Packs
I guess you can use it to neuter annoying 1/1 poisoners like plague stinger? But that's pretty marginal. It's bad because its uses are so limited that it's going to be a dead draw most of the time and because there are so many more effective cards for either buffing your own creatures' toughness or ...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread yet?
So I've been toying around trying to come up with an interesting Commander Deck and the most effective idea I've got so far is Using Arcum Dagsson as a general, have him fetch up Darksteel Forge and Nevinyrral's Disk as soon as you can and then blow everything up. But that seems like a cheap and ann...

Back in Alpha days there was no Four-of-a-kind rule, the only real deckbuilding rule was a 40 (yes, 40) card minimum.

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread yet?
Did anyone happen to pick up an event deck? War of Attrition looks like an insane value. For the cards included. 2 Mystics for $25? That's just nuts! What am I missing? I don't see any mythics in that list. I mean, it looks like a solid deck for a precon, but I don't think I'd buy it just for the r...
