Re: Talking Simulator
Well, when it comes to artistic media, age is a relative thing. The first films were being shot in the 1890s, but they weren't widely popular as a medium for popular culture until around the 1920s (despite earlier films having a dedicated following and producing many films that are very well-regarde...

When I was in Vancouver, we wandered round Gastown for food most nights, and that served us well enough.

Re: Talking Simulator
OK, I know I'm a week late on the VoD, but I thought I'd add to the discussion regarding the ending to Life is Strange. I would agree with Cam that the choice to sacrifice Chloe is to accept her loss- the last episode makes it very clear that the timeline has, on multiple occasions, been doing every...

Re: QwerpLine Ep22 - From the Waist Down
Whilst I enjoyed the episode, I have to say the flickering video effect was kinda jarring for me; I found myself switching tabs to avoid it. It's possible it's been in previous episodes and I haven't noticed it, but it seemed very noticeable on this occasion.

Re: Politics and the Vague Fear of Something Called Donald Trump
Agreed with both of you, Amake and Bebop. I would dearly love Trump not to be in power and for there to be less fascist rhetoric floating around nowadays. Neither I nor Dutch nor anyone else I've seen on this thread (or indeed IRL) have argued that people should do less protesting and fighting again...

Re: Politics and the Vague Fear of Something Called Donald Trump
That a man could talk openly about banning Muslims, banning Mexicans, "Make America great again", let alone gain any kind of public support for saying those things, was already enough to tell us we were past any hope of finding middle ground. There's problems with integrating immigrants, ...

Re: Politics and the Vague Fear of Something Called Donald Trump
Just FYI Dutch guy, I'm with you on this (as someone whose political views oscillate either side of centre-left). I find Trump's behaviour dangerous, his lies particularly distasteful to my sensibilities (especially regarding the environment)... and I actually agree with Amake that his behaviour is ...

So, somehow I've got a date on Friday with a girl I met online. Go me!
I've also got an exam in two days, and yet I'm still a couple of orders of magnitude less nervous about that than this.

For those who are interested, I'm watching the VOD and it looks like Blue_Sky was in Twitch chat for Talking Simulator yesterday. Looks like he might have been feeling pretty rough, but the lad's still around.
It's times like this that I wish I could have a park bench conversation with the world.

On Tolerance Today is the inauguration ceremony for soon-to-be President of the United States, Donald J Trump. It hardly needs saying that this is one of the more... contentious political events of the last few years, much of which stems from the extensive accusations of intolerance leveled at Mr Tr...

Regarding the project sub-ocean sequence about Ezio's hidden blade... despite the common myth, swords have no need of a 'blood gutter' to aid removal of the blade from the body and fullers on blades are only there to reduce weight and improve flexibility. So Ezio would only have to cope with the *re...

For all those who are suffering at the moment, I thought I might share something that occurred to me around New Year. In 2016, I near as dammit beat depression. I'm by no means happy all the time, there are still things that make me sad and I've had some properly crap moments in the past few months....

This one isn't written by me, but instead comes from the comments section underneath a Cracked article. On Orwell and The Snoopers Charter George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four is my all-time favourite work of literature; not because it's the best to read or because I'm some sort of nihilist, but because it presents a horrifyingly compelling, realistic depiction of totalitarianism and the logical extre...

Re: Arclight_Dynamo's Sports Journey
I do know I'm not at all a fan of the more gruesome nonsense that goes on in hockey games. Fighting just strikes me as idiotic and brutish. Interesting. My main takeaway from nine years of martial arts hovered somewhere around 'taking a punch is WAY more exhilarating than receiving one. Anyway, as ...
