Re: Having fun with statistics!

Oh yeah, I remember those from Advanced Placement exams. They're not too bad, actually, because for every choice you can rule out, you can rule out more than one possible answer, whereas in multiple choice, you can only rule out one choice per answer. For example, if you know for sure that Wii Spor...

Having fun with statistics!

For some unknown reason, the test had a lot of D answers on it. Unless Opposite Day meant that there were actually very few D answers. Man, I'm confused... No, there isn't necessarily too many 'D' answers on it. **Puts on Geek Hat** Let's say there was an even distribution between A, B, C, D answer...

Don't get me wrong, I love the Wii, but I think it was a pretty poor move not having the latest version of Flash in the last Wii Internet update. They had the Internet software in beta for a while, then when they put it out in full version, they didn't update the Flash software. I'm sure that there ...

Upon watching this again, it seems to me that the way James say "M***er Fucker" is childish. I mean, the way he says makes him sound scared to say it. Did anyone else notice that? I noticed that too, when I saw it. Nothing against James, but I know a lot of people when they begin to swear...

Really great video, I've always enjoyed the X ways to Y videos. I especially enjoyed the outtakes at the end. If that kind of stuff is on the DVD's, it's certainly a great selling point!

Personally, I couldn't be more exited. It looks fascinating, and I trust J.J. Abrams as a producer. Alias was a great show (at least the first 3 seasons were), and Lost was great (I'm only half way through season 2, but still, it seems great thus far), so there's no reason to doubt him as a story te...

I saw this on Slashdot a few minutes ago. It was cool to see that the screen survived for a brief moment, before being ground into powder. Sad, but very cool at the same time.

I agree, it's an excellent take on one of the greatest sketches of all time. Another favorite of mine is Victor Borge's phonetic punctuation.

Re: A poll for music lovers

Which is better Dark Side or Sargent Pepper and why? For me, the choice is unquestionably Dark Side. I've always been a huge fan of that album, and I feel that it is one of the best Pink Floyd albums period. I prefer their 'Middle' albums (Dark Side and Wish You Were Here) to their later (Animals &...

I wouldn't really use the term 'banned'; it just didn't get approval from Health Canada. Not that I blame them.

And yes, they still use it in the states.

Nutracaf!

I was working a couple months ago, and a coworker and I were really hard up for some coffee. We brewed up a very strong batch, but had no milk or cream. Anyway, we got the bright idea to add some vanilla Ensure (a meal replacement drink) and some sugar. Nutracaf was born! I'm not saying I would choo...

Though I haven't read it's MOA (mechanism of action), I think it has to do with changing your intestine's ability to absorb fats. Because you can't absorb the fat, it has to come out somewhere. On a similar note are WOW! chips. They aren't sold in Canada (and I'm not even sure of the availability in...

Primer

Has anyone on the crew ever seen the movie, “Primer”? It's an indie movie from 2004 that was made for only $7000. If you haven't seen it, I would highly recommend it. It won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance that year. Watch the movie, read the Wikipedia article, then watch it again.

Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree

As a birthday gift, I was given Big Brain Academy, and I have to say, it's great fun. I was wondering if there is anyone else out there who would like to swap friend codes. There are a bunch of cool Connect24 features in the game (e.g. compete against other records, stuff like that), so let me know ...

Voltron

Though it was on after school, my favorite cartoon growing up was Voltron. It was on when I was 6 or 7 years old, and I watched it every day. I think it is one of those shows that probably is better in my mind than it actually was, but man, it rocked.

Though I never played the original FFT, I did play the crap out of FFTA. It quite possibly is the only GBA game that I actually started immediately over with a new file once I had beaten it. Easily my favorite GBA game. I should go find a greatest hits version of FFT somewhere and play the original....

Time Constraints in the LRRCast?

Lately, I've been noticing that the crew tries to rush through the LRRCasts as if to keep them to a certain length. While I can appreciate the crew going for structure, I find that it takes some of the ad-libbed spontaneity out of it. It's something that has been nagging me the last bunch (just afte...
