Re: The Limited thread

Been drafting a bunch since it hit MTGO, I've tried most of the archetypes (including 5 color Prism Array) and I've had some incredible luck (2 Expedition Fetches in my first 3 drafts), but so far this has easily been my favorite and best performing deck. Molten Nursery is just insane in multiples. ...

Re: Gideon mix up?

Not really a bug, just a mix up on MTGOs part. And they've already said anyone who did mistakenly get the Gideon card is free to keep or trade it. I was watching Kenji's stream today and saw people talking about it so decided "hey I kind of want to draft anyway so let's go see if this is actual...

Re: TTC 100 - PAX Prime 2015 Recap

Charm seems infinitely better than Tango to me. They both have the issue of people not understanding the phrase, but Charm both sounds better and at least makes sense given what the phrase actually means. Battle is solid mostly just because it's really the simplest, and given no great alternatives i...

Can count me in. Would love to put all the draft commons and uncommons I've built up to go to use, this sounds like a great way.

Re: LRRcast - Kathleen Trivia (May 2015)

In regards to Lyndon Johnson, he was eligible to run for a 2nd full term because he was only President for 14 months after JFK was killed. Had he been President for 24 months or more, he would not have been able to run in 1968 (which he ultimately withdrew from anyway). And it was Grover Cleveland w...

Re: The Limited thread

http://s11.postimg.org/v1fhtthpv/MMA.png First MMA15 draft and it went fairly well, minus the opening any value. Went 2-0 and the split the finals with this. The cheap removal worked very well in round 1 against a RB Bloodthirst deck, taking out the early creatures and stopping or at least slowing ...

Re: The Limited thread

Attacking with both and just putting down the 1/2 blocker leaves you dead, so that's not the right play I feel. You know they have the 5/4 in hand. So that means they dash it out and try to kill you. I feel like playing the butcher is the better play. But at the same time, that isn't that great for...

Re: The Limited thread

So an interesting play came up the other day in the finals of a draft I was in. I was playing U/B and my opponent was playing R/B. It was game 3 and I was at 5 life and my opponent was at 7. They had 2 vanilla 3/3s on the board (both tapped after attacking) and 1 card in hand that I knew was the 5/4...

Re: The Limited thread

A few more drafts in the books, the first 2 I opened Dragonlord Dromoka in both pack 1's. In one of the drafts I followed it by opening Ojutai Exemplars and then FRF Dromoka. Both decks went 2-1 (the 2nd one obviously a disappointing 2-1 given the power level) and the Dragonlord decided to only show...

Re: The Limited thread

First MTGO DTK draft in the books and it turned out to be both good and disappointing. I went 3-0 with this R/B list, that's the good. The bad is I only played the finals as both of my opponents in the first 2 rounds didn't show. That was disappointing because I liked the deck and wanted to play wit...

"Field Surgeon suuuucks!" ... Did you guys *read* the card? It's probably top 3 commons in the set, makes combat impossible for your opponents. No need to be a bit of a jerk about it. Yes the card is deceptively very powerful and a very high pick, however this is an old set and by today's...

Re: The Limited thread

3-0d (6-0 in games) with this Mardu deck. Opened a Zurgo in both packs 1 and 3, and opened the on-color fetch in pack 2. The deck worked in a fairly simple way; curve out creatures, smash face, and then finish with a Zurgo or Arrow Storm. The Bloodsoaked Champion was a bit awkward with only a handfu...

Re: Kahns prerelease

Just finished my first Khans draft on MTGO. Ended up with a solid Abzan deck with some nice synergies. Finished 2-1 losing to a Warrior deck that in game 2 (I won game 1) played 2 of the "get 3 1/1 warriors" and then a trumpet blast and the +2/+1 in the same turn, and then game 3 had both ...

Re: Gaming Computer

I did go through with buying one similar to the earlier build I linked (the custom one not the pre-built ones). There were a few hiccups putting it together, but I got there and so far it's been working great. I've only really loaded up WoW so far, but I've been able to run that very well at close t...

Thanks for the link. The WoW specific guide was especially good to read. The build I'm currently looking at seems like it fits somewhere in the minimum to entry range, which is basically what I was hoping for given the limited budget.

Re: Gaming Computer

Yeah I figure I'll do more research before making any decision, but I'm almost assuredly going to build one myself, either something like the one I linked or maybe waiting a month or so and increasing the budget a bit. Thanks for the help, glad I asked and didn't hastily pull the trigger on one of t...

Re: Gaming Computer

Yeah I kind of figured if I wanted anything remotely decent at the price point I'd probably have to build it myself. So after some research I came across this YouTube video for a custom build that is within this budget (even including an OS). I don't want to blindly trust everything about it, but do...

So I'm generally much more of a console gamer, however I've built up a decent amount of Amazon credit and decided to at least take a quick glance at any gaming desktops available within that budget. I've come across 2 of them, but I'm mostly a noob when it comes to these things so I'm looking for a ...

Re: The KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANs of Tarkir Spoiler Thread

My thoughts were basically, they figured the basic effect was too strong for a rare due to limited (two 3/4s in the air for 5 is very bomby) especially in only one color, but not strong enough on it's own for a mythic. So they tacked on a relevant life ability that feels eh to bump it up. Yeah it c...

Re: Upcoming changes to blocks and rotation...

I have very much enjoyed the more recent core sets, but I think overall this is a change for the best. I do wonder is this means we'll have about half as many Planeswalkers running around in Standard given that the core sets contained about as many of them as an entire block. Or perhaps we'll see mo...

Re: The Limited thread

After some middling results in M15, I finally took a draft down with this near mono-black deck, in fact going 6-0 in games. I first picked Chandra and 2nd picked Burning Anger, so certainly expected to be red. But then I saw very little red and black was super-open. By the end I decided to just play...

I'm gonna be "that guy." The air in that Ice Age pack would have heard of Bill Clinton. He got elected to his first term in 1992. But, I can't criticize Cam too much. He knows far more about U.S. Presidents than I know about Canadian Prime Ministers. It's possible Cam was referring to the...
