Re: How or why did you pick your avatar

One of the few lego minifigs I kept after selling my lego collection in 2004. In hindsight it was a massive mistake, even if it sold for 800$.... I miss my Airport Shuttle (set no.6399) and other train stuff.

Also I have not changed my avatar since registering.

Re: After 83 years, METROPOLIS!... IS!...

Analog film is suprisingly high-def in visual information. (Although the old film WILL be more grainy than the later stuff). You always lose visual data when converting something to digital. More when converting to DVD format, less when using Blue-ray. I don't really see the problem therefor. This....

Re: the SINGLE most manliest movie ever

I hope its as ridiculous as JOHN RAMBO.

However, "The Big Damn Book Of Sheer Manliness" states that "SPARTICUS" with Kirk Douglas is the Manliest movie of all time.

Re: Oh the Horrors!

I remember during the summer of 03 I decided that I would see every Nightmare on Elm st and every Friday the 13th sequentially. There were some gaps, but I did see them all within the timespan of 2ish weeks. From what I remember: Nightmare on Elm st 1: Great, and managed to pull off a serious horror...

While I wasn't at that screening in the picture, I was at the Oak Bay High 2nd Film festival where 'Gloobs' was shown (I also saw Starbull a year earlier at the 1st OBHS Film festival). Unfortunately the people running the tech were morons who had the projector was set way too dark and the sound was...

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2

I think I'm ready to finally enter the world of online FPS games. I am a noob and will be shot to pieces upon spawning :( My advice on first time playing is that you should avoid spawning to your squad who are in the thick of the battle until you get better/used to the game or else you will be shot...

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Played it last night. Anyone saying it's a better game than MW2 needs their heads checked. -m Hey screw you, I found it fantastic. Even my friend who is hardcore into MW2 found it much more fun. Vehicles, destructible objects and a playerbase on the mic that is 800X less annoying. Also MW2 I found ...

Really?

Oh man that sucks. I remember Ken saying how after those old comiccons him and his friends were guests at, most of them left with a cold or flu of some sort. A couple of years ago they started using some purell and they were fine.

Computer Overclock halp

About a year and a half ago I got a new computer with some advice form a few friends and built it. Works great and everything, but I was originally intending to overclock it but never really got around to actually doing it (was going to with help of a friend but hes too busy atm, and I kept forgetti...

Re: Total Annihilation

Oh my god, yes Total Annihilation. Back in summer 2004 a friend of mine introduced me to this 1997 masterpiece of a game and it almost took over my life for the rest of that year. Out of every RTS I ever played, this had them all beat by miles. There was just so much awesome, especially the soundtra...

Re: The New Relationship Thread

Dude, chicks dig older guys. But what about those of us who are short and can still sometimes get mistaken for teenagers eh? You're all, to my knowledge, under 25. That's only a quarter of your lives! And you'll have been pursuing romance for less than half of that. You've all probably got 6 decade...

Damn you unexpected thought loops/panic attacks that suddenly distract from paying attention in class.... Im paying for this shit with my own money and I cant even focus ugh.

Also coffee and pretty much all alcoholic drinks make me feel really ill now (they never used to).

Re: Who got caught 'cheating' in TF2?

You know, Ive been absent from TF2 for the past 2 weeks, and im just catching up on this situation by reading various forums, communities, steamforums ect. ect. and I must ask: Did I miss a point where gamers suddenly turned into a bunch of crybabies with a feverish sense of entitlement? People talk...

Re: Overheard conversation

College dating is simple. Oh I wasn't debating the difficulty of college dating, the point I was trying to get across is that if you have an opportunity in HS, don't turn it down just for the sake of "wait for college". In fact, even though so many said how they didn't work out, ect ect, ...

Re: Overheard conversation

Brad, the babysitter doesn't count. ;) Also, from what I've seen, 98% of relationships started in high school DON'T WORK OUT. Wait until college, and you have a better shot at finding a suitable facsimile to "true love". I know you are trying to give good advice, but I however have a huge...

Overheard conversation

Several years back, probably around 2005 when I was selling Alex's tshirts at various conventions; I had overheard a conversation in a nearby booth I couldn't see since there was racks of merchandise. It was a few girls who were discussing boyfriends and such and there was this particular girl descr...
