I'm on both Twitter and Tumblr. They're both storing places for brain droppings of all stripes. Click through if you dare.

Concordia University in Montreal.

An English university in a bilingual city with a BA in philosophy offered. Montreal has awesome eats, great people and a sweet music scene.

There is only a women's rugby team.

Re: Editing the LRR Wiki! It supports, lifts and separates!

Alright, I've been tooling around the wiki for a bit now. The Videos page is up to date (links to pages, anyways) along with the category sub-pages (ENN, Unskippable, PhailhaĆ¼s). The LRRcast page is up to date (again, not really "new" entries, but all the links are there), a page for TGwP,...

Orange and cranberry chicken with steamed fava beans, made with a jury-rigged steamer (a pot and a metal strainer).

I thought you guys were going for a "vuvuzela centipede" joke at one point, but a unit of measure is just as funny.

Re: If you had a unit of measure named after you....

The derk would indicate a movie's critical appeal in direct relation to it's popular appeal using variables such as critical consensus, budget and gross.

A critically-acclaimed film no one saw would have a higher derk count than a critically-hated film that made an obscene amount of money.

Derk is a bastardized version of my first name that became my nickname in high school and had stuck tenaciously since. Why "Captain" was tacked on there is lost to history, but I do remember it had something to with Robert Crumb, whose work I discovered around the same time my nickname was...

The longest I've lasted was 33 hours, thanks mostly to an overnight shift at work. Anything more than that seems like a pretty tall order. Food helps, as does being surrounded by a bunch of loud people.

Huxley is a crap writer, but with excellent ideas. Crap may be a bit of a stretch. "Monochrome" and "drony" are adjectives that come to mind. Arguably, Isaac Asimov suffered from the same thing. For dystopia, I found Nineteen Eighty-Four to be one of the best reads I've ever had...

I recently finished Around the World in 57 1/2 Gigs by Dave Bidini (he of Rheostatics fame) and was impressed. It was quite the rock and roll adventure. Next up on the chopping block is Aldous Huxley's Brave New World . I'm half-way through, and it's an excellent read; it turns the concept of the dy...

Dear Kathleen,

Let's say that you wield the power to bring any four musicians, living or dead, to your place to kick out the jams, Rock Band-style. Keeping in mind this limits you to a vocalist, a guitarist, a bassist and a drummer, which four do you pick?

Rockingly,

This Phailhaus is epic win, if only for having one of the best, if not the best Matt moment ever. I damn near doubled over as bellowed "tabarnak" after biting into the cracker.

And for the record, I always thought that "The Girls of Porn" was a more effective room-clearer.
