Re: LRR builds PC's
Yeah, the thing about 4k is that even a 1080TI is only pushing 80ish frames on something like DOOM ultra settings. 4k 144 or 160hz monitors aren't really giving what they are rated for any they cost upwards of $1200 a pop. Yikes! Plus Windows disables HDR in many circumstances, especially games, whi...

Ok, I'm sold on overwatch now, a couple months behind everyone else I guess.

Nah, I had fine FPS in the jungle outside his place. But as soon as I went inside the door, the giant autosorter just made it unplayable

Sounds like Sibanamush' old place. I couldn't even visit it on my laptop because the framerate dropped to 0. But that's what happens when you make autosorters and autokilns and auto doors and etc. etc. etc.

*fondly thinks back on orthanc and the old server*
I'd join the new server but nothing I build is really going to compare to that project.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Yeah, but the wall is super long and passes through some relatively uninhabited areas. I'm guessing the odds are decent of the wall being very near to some chunks that regenerate into a warm biome of some sort. I basically haven't been playing any video games lately other than a few hours of Civ her...

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
For my part, I've been crazy busy and the closure of the LRRcraft server has been a blessing in disguise. But since I'm here, and Memo is still working on server cleanup, I'll mention this again: that ENTIRE area centered around the abandoned place at ~3090,1860 is, as far as I know, uninhabited. Th...

Any progress with the server logs? You could almost certainly narrow down the time window in which the vandalism occurred by searching for the last incoming Templemir rail notification - since the water took out the tracks, it's very likely the damage was done after the last cart came in.

Re: Social Anxiety Fear Factor
The first minute thirty was really hard to watch, but it paid off big time by the time the part with the borrowed drill rolled around. I suppose LRR is to be congratulated for creating a situation so awkward that even watching a video of it in our own homes makes us feel awkward. I mean, I'll congra...

People in chat say a lot of things, that doesnt mean they are 1. active players, 2. willing to pay. 3. on the forum. 4. not just talking out their butts. Yeah, Hosk pretty much covered it. People will say a lot of things off the cuff without really considering it. Also, chalk me up as having too mu...

Hah, that neuroticism is so painfully familiar to me. Missy's character was confident and slightly deranged, but it was the intense anxiety from Kathleen that made the sketch. Also not sure why people think neuroticism is out of character for Kathleen...don't want to pretend to be an expert, but tha...

All the recent FN videos (including hero's path) have been knocking it out of the park, and this one continues the trend The flip back to Graham doing something different for his sickness each time, James acting like an announcer, Beej's clueless enthusiasm, the implied joke of Alex's misinterpretat...

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Wait you actually set up an IPv6 access? Thats got to be a sadly rare occurrence among (minecraft) servers. IPv6 is going to be the new standard because IPv4 is literally running out of domains...it was never designed to be used on such a global scale. At least, once ISPs stop sitting on their asse...

Yeah, I know AdmiralMatt has just 2, and sometimes it can be slow. If you're gonna get more furnaces though, don't make any; there are about 3 or 4 stacks in spawn storage just sitting there. Eh, it's just cobble. Literally more common than dirt. Memo's right though, it doesn't make a lot of sense ...

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Just be careful about strip-mining the Nether. I think it's something that tends to annoy Memo. That said, if you do start mining down to the Lava Sea, use that for smelting. A bucket of lava will smelt 100 items; a stack and a half with change. Or, if you use coal, craft it into blocks. A block of...

Someone's been a busy little bee... http://imgur.com/a/7mGSh Just to clarify though, the part of the wall made of Nether Bricks? That started life as roughly 40 stacks (approx 2560 individual bits) of raw Netherrack - with the additional cost of about 10~12 steel pickaxes, and somewhere in the vici...

I guess we need to find a balance between the ways things are bad. I think that Pray Warriors is still the gold standard for this balance. It was playable and wrong but no one seemed bored by it. Horrified yes but not bored to the point where you just don't feel like continuing. I've said it before...

I love the business model in The Stand 2. It's genius, they pay until they're sufficiently shamed. But the more they pay, the better the service is perceived to be working. I mean, personally I don't need those services because I generate enough shame for an entire village of backwards homophobic ra...

Eh...when it gets right down to it, I think most of the traps are telegraphed pretty well, and you've only got yourself to blame for trying to rush through. The Souls series certainly punishes rushing. On the other hand, I can see the frustration in going back through (I got pretty frustrated by the...
