Re: The Official Kathleen and Graham will be in England Thread

So LRRndon was amazing. Great to meet everyone who went! (Hooray for no crazy lady...)For those who didn't make it, if you ever get the chance to go to one of these, do, even if you end up getting home at 3.30 in the morning, like me!

Re: The Official Kathleen and Graham will be in England Thread

I'm returning to the forum. I don't know why I ever stopped coming... you may all shun me now.
I'm going to try my damndest to be there. I have to be in London anyway some time in the next few days - might as well be tomorrow!

EDIT: Hell yes, I'm going to be there. I am so going to be there.

Re: Death from Above

I loved this! I'm glad to see a website having a go at the ridiculous 2012 stuff. The curry explanation is what I've though the whole time, albeit more humorously worded ;-) The references - Sgt. Furface and ArMEGAdon were brilliant, too Appropriately subtle. I thought that ArMEGAdon was alright,but...

I don't want a sex bot. I want a maid bot, then I could sex actual womenz. Since I could afford a maid bot, I could afford to buy womenz (good ones, too). At least until maid bots become so sought-after that they become commonplace and cheap! Then the novelty of having one will wear off, you'll fil...

Re: New LRR Series! (The Escapist News Network)

They're like the drilling pod things in Gears of War 2, except in the air instead of the ground, so less original and not as cool. ...What? The drill pods are pure awesome! But ODST was entertaining as a single-player game, and however lacking in originality you may choose to think they are, that d...

If it looks like a duck, and talks like a duck, it's a duck. Or at very least a racist loon. Hope you don't mind Brad, but that is going right in my sig. Oh, and if all the stuff you just said is true, and I can easily believe that it would be, it simply serves to further my paranoia about far-righ...

Wow Brad, you just made our Conservative party look absolutely normal What's "hug-a-hoodie" before that little lot? Your conservatives sound worryingly like our BNP, however. The National Party want everyone of non-British ancestry (which is a very loosely defined term, even to them) out o...

I don't really know where to ask, but is there a setting (that I have been unable to track down) that allows me to turn off the auto-watching of a thread I post in? Or at least turn off the e-mails associated with this feature! Posting in a popular threat at the moment gets me practically spammed! T...

Re: New LRR Series! (The Escapist News Network)

I have little to no facial hair, and I didn't know what ODST stood for until someone told me. I haven't played Magic, and if there was something else mentioned, I probably don't fit there. And Tapir mentioned something about being excluded. Rest easy then! You only have one flu to fear at the momen...

Re: New LRR Series! (The Escapist News Network)

Here's something for you: I knew what ODST stood for before the FIRST Halo game was even released. It was in the prequel novel (Fall of Reach), which was released, and I read, before Halo 1 came out. Then you and I are probably both pretty high-risk. I didn't get a thorough look at the graph yet (a...

Re: New LRR Series! (The Escapist News Network)

very nice video, i hope you make more like it, but i do have a question: are you just slowly surrounding the escapist with a metaphorical sea, leaving only yahtze clinging to a metaphorical floating crate, desperately crying out for help; but there's no-one left to hear him... no-one. Seems like th...

Donkeys would be asses. The other is just a vulgar term for the backside.
EDIT: Oh, and the latter is also the one to which most people append "smart-" etc, if you're wondering.

Re: Smallpox

Alternatively, one could always differentiate by use of some of our good ole British vernacular. "Arse" is pretty different to "ass", after all! It works for us, at any rate. That way we can have "badass" et al. without need for concern... can't we?

I lol'd at Brad's deal poking fun at the Dos Equis commecrials. Though I can't understand why anyone would want to live in England. I lol'd at the end of the video. I cried a little when Tim swore though. I thought he didn't swore. Some of us were born and raised in this "Green and pleasant la...

Please tell me, Brad, that at some point you're gonna con a bunch of the locals into helping you do a LRR video from abroad. That's an idea that, as a limey (or whatever you call us!) I'm a freeter. Like Goldenboy, except I don't wear the shades. I did my undergrad thesis on medieval drama. The York Plays are a big part of what's left of that tradition. Well, that makes sense then. I had no idea what a freeter was, so I asked Urban Dictionary to educate me: "[...] someone i...

Quick note for anyone who's wondering (or ever has wondered) QI actually stands for "Quite Interesting" it's a panel game and has a round called "general ignorance" which is where I believe Lyinginbedmon got confused. It's great, btw. You learn a lot and laugh a fair bit, too!
