Re: Crapshots - Volume 3
I am only disappointed by the pronunciation of "Apple-ahch-an" instead of "Apple-ay-chan" That's how those of us in southern Appalachia pronounce it. On the subject of 241: the Beejdrop has been my favorite thing in a while. The Groceries was fun, but the DUI and this latest one...

Hey! Gatlinburg is just down the road from here. I live in a lightly-enough populated area that any mention of any kind is a small thrill.

Re: The Very Best of Room Tone
I would like to say that I can hear the difference in room tone even on my laptop speakers, and they kinda suck. A lot.
Anyway, I enjoyed this video. Perhaps not a laugh-riot, but it does have a quiet(Har har) genius to it that I appreciate.

Re: the "my neck of the woods" thread
You people and your 'small towns.' MY neck of the woods is a town of 5,000 people. There's nothing nearby worth photographing, though there are plenty of beautiful vistas within reasonable driving distance (like 2 minutes). My town looks like every other tiny hole in the wall in the Appalachian moun...

Re: Elder Generations Lament Decline of Handwriting
My handwriting is terrible. As a child, my print was nasty, but my cursive was pretty nice. But I forgot how to print, oddly enough. In the process of reteaching myself printing, it merged with my cursive, and it got ugly. Since that happened, at about 13 or 14, my handwriting has stayed the same. A...

Re: The First Rule
Great video, I basically agree with everybody here on pretty much everything (including the shirt idea), though I would like to say that while I enjoyed the stinger, I don't think it was the highlight everyone else did. Also, just a nitpick, but I believe after the James-energy-ball-thing effect, Ja...

Re: LRRcast for Discount Deals
On the subject of rum and coke, I'm pretty partial to Captain Morgan's Spiced as my rum of choice, and I agree with your statements that the taste is pretty much Vanilla Coke. It's all about finding the right mixture ratio for whatever alcohol you have.

Re: The Confession Topic: Get It Off Your Chest!
I fear constantly that I am going to screw up somehow, and I am deeply ashamed of my past mistakes. I'm smart, and people know this, and I think it's that expectation that has caused me to regret my mistakes so. I am horrendously lazy and unmotivated. I have no aspirations in life. The most I've eve...

Interesting: In North America, it's widely regarded as the 'gay' channel, for showing a lot of reality shows and vaguely metrosexual programming.

Re: Getting in Touch
The video was pretty good, but I more wanted to say that the stinger and the concept of ice cream and tag as a date reminds me of XKCD. Something about adults doing childish things like that but in a realistic way (XKCD had the ball pit and such). It's a concept I find very endearing.

Aside from that, I usually leave the player on random. Radiohead comes up a lot. So does Lamb of God.

Re: Films That Actually Make You Reflect On Your Own Life
I find that this really breaks into two different kinds of moviegoing experiences for me: Movies that make me look at myself either through similarity to my life/personality or otherwise its own merits, and films that I saw while feeling particularly introspective. Example: Lords of Dogtown is about...

Re: Scientist's Rebuttal to ICP
This couldn't have been timed any better for me. I just saw the video this is parodying last night. While an excellent rebuttal, and quite funny, the video itself I didn't think was so great. The effects did a good job of mocking the original, as did the music, but Paul's rhymes were painful and som...

Do you have a particular brand of toilet paper?
Inspired by the latest LRR video, I was left to wonder: Do other people use a specific brand of toilet paper? I admit that I do. To be honest, the whole development completely surprised me: I had never really cared so much, and just bought whatever was cheapest, until one day I stumbled upon what I ...

Re: Paper Boy
Perhaps I'm just being a pedant, but having thought about it, the punchline situation isn't actually that bad. After all, the cost is $300 a roll. And if it's really that nice of a toilet paper, one wouldn't need more than 8 to 12 sheets, really, so you're looking at a cost of around $24 to $36. Gra...
