Potentially off-topic: missing person
Hi all, I realise I've not posted here for many a year (time-based reasons mostly: still a massive fan of the crew's stuff), and I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. A guy I know from university (here in the UK) has gone missing while hiking in Vancouver. I know only one person in Vanc...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
@Volafortis: Thanks for the very detailed advice. They all sound like very cool additions to the deck, and I would be very keen to add a planeswalker at some point, although I'm not sure which actually fit properly. However, I probably wasn't clear enough in my post as to what I'm looking to do with...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
The guys at LRR have revitalized a long dormant interest in Magic for me (long story short, I played it for like two months way back during the Invasion cycle). I've got Duels of the Planeswalker 2012 on my PS3 and I was wondering if anyone's tried out the DLC for it. If so, was it worth it? I have...

Re: Mass Effect Movie Announced!
What I would find interesting, though, is not a direct adaptation, but something more akin to a prequel or a tandem story that does not feature Shepard directly. Not likely to be done, but I think it would be far better. Of course it'll never happen. That would require Hollywood screen writers to h...

Re: ...What.
You can be banned from the Escapist and your account deleted. There's a big freaking problem there if you just paid $20 for a subscription. Especially with how some of the mods over there can get. And with that we have the potential worry of people avoiding permabans because of their subscriptions,...

*lights car on fire* Ooh, are we having another riot? :D *sets fire to PAX* On an unrelated note: I really enjoyed the video :) My reaction when the cHustle music started playing was, at the risk of sounding unimaginative, SQUEEE. Interesting to see the new take on cHustle continuing: personally I ...

Re: Portal 2
I'd personally say that this is far more likely to be episode 3 rather than portal 2, unless of course they just combine the two. The fact that Kleiner, Alyx and Barney can (apparently) be heard talking in the background of one of the audio clips seals it for me. That, plus the fact that Valve would...

Well, it does require the occasional normal health poultice (more expensive to craft) and then use Morrigan for the occasional healing spell: I still get through these things ridiculously quickly though...

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
The one proble I've found is that there is a lack of health potions. The shops don't seem to restock and there are currently 0 available in Ferelden! Which is a pain as I'm on the final part. The crafting materials to make lesser health poultices can be bought very cheaply from varathorn (for the e...

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
Well, I've finally got this game working, and, after a slow start, I'm utterly hooked. I'm playing as a male warrior, and have just completed the main quest to gain the support of the Dalish Elves, and have just defended Redcliffe. I'm currently 'wooing' (for want of a better word) leliana, and doin...

I was feeling a bit miffed that the awesomeness of DoWII Last Stand had kept me up until 2:30am, on a day when I needed to get an early night, and then I saw this video, and suddenly it all seemed worthwhile. Really good video this week: I liked the twist in the script away from the rather obvious t...

Re: Doctor Who End of Time Part 2
I'd have to agree with Katie in preferring Ecclestone. I felt that his portrayal of the Doctor had a lot more depth to it: Tennant became far too two dimensional as a character, and to be honest, I'm very glad to see him go and I hope that Doctor Who can develop further as a show, as I was very disa...

Vanguard for me: it took a while to level up enough to get the class to work, but when it worked the combination of the shotgun and the biotic powers was brilliant to use. Good to know, I just started as a vanguard. Just be warned that for the first 10-15 levels you're playing as either a biotic wi...

Yeah, I've realised that I need to do a reinstall anyway: I'll also use it to upgrade to windows 7, and to 64 bit, as I need to install more RAM into this thing. Well, I just got Dragon Age for the PC for christmas.
