Re: Fight the Future 18 - How I Live Now
@Daniel You hit the nail on the head. It's only crazy to us because it is happening to people it isn't "supposed to" happen to now. Always good to be reminded that our experiences aren't universal. Maybe that is part of what makes YA dystopias so interesting. They are visions of another wo...

Re: Fight the Future 18 - How I Live Now
I wonder if this story is taking themes and situations from a lot of different wars and violent episodes. I agree that the Second World War was certainly an influence, especially with the setting being English countryside, but the pile of bodies at the boys' training camp sounded like some genocidal...

I think thats the fastest anyone's gone from "whats the worst that could happen?" to "I have made a terrible mistake" That was such a great line. Graham acted it out very well. I also really liked the sounds for Beej hitting Cameron with the ladle. The hits sounded heavy. Was th...

There's really an alley named for Fan Tan? I did a research project in LA on crime records from the late 19th to early 20th century and almost all of the arrests of Chinese people were for Fan Tan. I wonder if it was legal in Victoria. I've always wanted to go up there for research, or for...you kno...

That was awesome. For some weird reason I love hearing Paul curse. It's like hearing a bunny curse. I stayed up until 3am to watch the whole thing because I enjoyed it so much. I hope you guys do more of these. And BTW, I think you have created the ultimate weapon idea with tying a hammer to a spear...

The day started out well, but then my friend called me a tyrant. It made me sad. Then I watched a bunch of Feed Dump and Checkpoint and they made me feel better. Thanks LRR!

Graham, I had the same birthday experience in the UK. I turned 21 in London while on junior year abroad from the US. Fortunately some friends from the states were also in Europe and they came to celebrate with me. However, all my UK friends didn't quite understand the monumentality of the event. I f...

I was camping and mentioned that I saw a robin outside the tent. My friend asked, "Was it a rockin' robin?" That song has been in my head all freakin' day.

Anyone know when it is coming out in the US? I can't find a date.
Also, why the hell is this the first I'm hearing of this?! I live in LA and we are saturated with bloody Tron posters (what a tease) and yet we don't get anything about this gem? No fair.

Whoever thought up that beet joke is brilliant, and Paul's delivery was spot on. Nerf guns arms races can indeed become dangerous, and expensive. My friends and I have had to put a cap of 6 darts in place and a rule that we can't buy any replacement darts. It makes planning an ambush much more inter...

That video was awesome. Not only do I love the subject matter, but brilliant comedic timing from everyone. I especially liked the parallel raising of the swords. It makes them so much more hilariously creepy. Katheleen is all ready to go and Matt begins giving the practical advice of a grizzled vete...

Maybe you have to be in the right mood to watch a movie like Blade Runner, like you have to be in the right mood to read Heart of Darkness. Otherwise, they seem dreadfully boring. To me, Blade Runner seemed like the type of movie where you needed to attend a discussion section afterward to fully und...

Just goes to show, you can't judge a game by its graphics. However, you can judge it by a guy putting a lit cigarette in his pocket and talking to his weenie.
