Re: Desert Bus

I just came back to look at the forum after a hiatus of a few months. I expected to be amused by complaints from the forumites about DB being too popular. Nice to see that the old annual sentiments have not died. At least the drama is turning constructive.

Re: Civil War!

So, does a rebellion count? If a rebellion counts, than the An Shi Rebellion was quite devastating. Or perhaps the more recent Taiping Rebellion.

Re: CheckPoint Episode 1

Not what I expected to see, and especially not where I thought I would see it. I really enjoyed it though.

Did anyone else keep thinking there was a download link on the video? I kept wanting to click on it.

Re: $50,000 to local kids hospital with your help

Well, I ended up finding out that I had some sort of regional loyalty, but your only real contender is Milwaukee so it is not really an issue. There is now a comment, and they have another e-mail address and a name. win-win right?

Re: Help plz win some Mashable Web Awards...

What is the point in gaining publicity for youtube any more... none of the new videos will be going on there after the escapist deal, so why look for publicity on something that is soon ending. I guess you do gain a little more name recognition, but to be quite honest you cannot do any better than w...

Re: Switzerland Has A Totally Rational Fear of Minarets

Just for a little different perspective, I thought that I would include this opinion article from the Jerusalem Post: http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull&cid=1259243055210 The author has 4 points that I will attempt to paraphrase: 1. The Swiss are apparently ...

Re: Introduce yourselves! (A friendly topic for new members)

I guess as a lurker, I should introduce myself. I have actually been following LRR since being linked from penny-arcade during Desertbus 2, and have since listened to all the podcasts (which I greatly look forward to, even more than the videos) and watched all the videos. This is the only forum comm...

Re: Desert Bus for AskLRR

How many of the videos you recorded will you eventually put on youtube? Personally, I would love to have everything you have put up so that I can remember the joys that were Desertbus in several months when the memory begins to fade... It would also allow me to see the many things that I missed due ...

Re: So... LRR and ENN were mentioned by the New York Times...

Wait a second: This article is actually old news. Graham announced the text in a tweet on the 21st: Wow! Great article on ENN. RT @NewTeeVee: The Daily Show’s Stepchildren Now Include Escapist News Network and Newsish http://bit.ly/13PqfS The NYT piece is the same article by the same author posted t...

Re: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy... book 6?!

I have become increasingly pessimistic over all "sanctioned" fan fiction... The last straw being those by Brian Herbert. I have now made the general rule that if the author dies, the end of the story goes with him. If there is something of a manuscript left behind at the time (a fairly com...

The when he got stabbed I only could think of the lord of the rings at weathertop. I was kind of surprised by the lack of reference... but then again you can only reference so many things and literature is not really the focus.

Re: If i were to visit America

So is Montana like a bigger Wyoming? Yes, but a little more liberal, a few more people per square mile, and more taxes. Oh, and the Californians are invading...(at least that is the perception there) Ah, I haven't been to Montana since "The Tearing". I thought I remember there not being a...

Re: If i were to visit America

There is a Ted's Montana Grill in Montana, and thank you for changing the course of the thread so quickly... I had a good laugh. Also, we have had a speed limit for years now. 70mph on paved highways, 75 on interstates. The fact that so few live there is what I like about it.

Re: If i were to visit America

That changed the environment a bit. Here I was going to walk through the history of the US political parties (in two sentences no less) and now I don't see any point... Oh well. Mostly I just don't like slander (perceived or otherwise) against the state of Montana. Oh, and Hi everyone... I am just a...
