That's usually when you find out you urgently need a toilet plunger...

Re: Moving Advice

Can opener.

Nothing quite like sitting in your empty apartment with a can of soup and a saucepan, and no way to open the soup.

Jenelmo, you weren't the only one. I did a double take and wondered who Mia was talking about when she said Alexander. It took a few seconds to register for me, too.

Yeah. The variety show was about 2 hrs, not the 3 hrs listed on the schedule and there was an hour break before the final draft tournament fired.

Re: LRRcon 2014

I think it makes a difference if you have an idea of the space and how the day will go before you plan a meet up. People were kind of all over the place at LRRcon and not everyone had reliable internet access to get updated info. An official second day might have improved meet up chances, too.

Re: LRRcon 2014

Tapir12 was at the far left end of the table from you (further than Pika). I was on your right past Silpho (and maybe Hekla?). It was hard to see people on the same side of the table during those games, for sure.

Edited for directions. What are hands?

Re: LRRcon 2014

I met a few people! But nobody from LRR yet. Was off playing other games. And where ARE you, Chemi? When you asked I was grabbing food with Tapir12, Hekla, and a few other people. Played games with some of the DB survivors so did I end up meeting you last night or will you be at breakfast this morn...

Turns out I'm mostly balls at meeting people (it's not really a surprise, but still). The people I have met are nice, though, so I'll try to meet more of you!

I really need to check these forums more. Spent the day wandering around Pike Place market, now drying off before my volunteer shift. See you all soon!

Re: LRRcon 2014

Side note: Just to confirm, the Doubletree DOES run shuttles to and from SEATAC, right? So I can reasonably expect to not have to bum a ride to the airport Sunday morning? Hotel website says complementary shuttle service to/from Seatac so you're good. thatlaurachick, I assume they will set up somet...

Re: LRRcon 2014

Ok, I somehow lost my confirmation email. Are passes being mailed to all, or was there pickup? I know I would have opted for pick-up if it was offered, since we're local to Seattle. Is there a way to get passes before Friday if you're not staying at the hotel? The options when ordering were to have...

Re: Canadian Runners I desperatly need your assistace!

Fun fact, they're available at Walmart.ca and (per their website) in-store at the two Walmart stores nearest to me. Hosk, I don't know if you can purchase from the Canadian Walmart site but I can be a shipping address and forward on if that works for you. Or I can take a look at the closest store to...

Re: LRRcon 2014

I would recommend calling the hotel to book if the website isn't showing available rooms. I booked early and the hotel website wasn't showing a room available for all of the nights I wanted, but they were able to give me all 5 nights at the LRRcon rate when I called.

Re: LRRcon Seattle Tour Group

Yeah, I was going to mention that you might want to look at map scales before deciding on a day trip. You're probably looking at a good 3 - 4 hr travel time from Seattle to Victoria (2.5 - 3 hrs on the clipper according to Tourism Victoria), with limited trips per day. For anyone coming from outside...

Re: LRRcon 2014

Man, that's odd. Maybe I'm not reading the map right, or maybe I'm just not too familiar with the locations of SEATAC's exit doors... but is the best way to the hotel from the airport seriously to just walk? Weird, that'd be the first time I leave a major international airport strictly on foot... I...

Yeah. I like people, really I do! But I've lived on my own for so long that I take no-people time for granted because it happens regularly and without effort. You'd think I would remember that bit, yet it surprises me every time. CaptainSpam, you're correct that it's the Doubletree by SEATAC and not...
