Re: Battle for Zendikar Nicknames

I wanna call Horribly Awry "Blue Grit"

Mostly because I'm a fan of Westerns and awful "puns."

But I think it's safe to say it'll just be "I think your plans have gone..." in a kinda smarmy voice.

Re: Battle for Zendikar Nicknames

I am claiming no originality for this, but BY GOD do I love what someone called the new Duals.

dietl from the MTGSalvation forums called them the Tango Lands.

Because it takes two to tango.

I just find that so perfect, and a lot of fun to say.

(And it sounds more fun than Two-al lands.)

Re: TTC - Fate Reforged & Ugin Boosters

Uh, I hate to ask this, but I'm not really sure where the best place to ask is. I'm subscribed to the podcast via itunes, and since the switch to different feeds, I've noticed that there's a lot of episodes that are just kind of...disappearing. It seems like the iTunes feed can only hold 10 "Ep...

Re: So that just happened (funny MTG stories)

Playing Mardu at my second LGS pre-release, after picking Sultai (Darn you poor mana base!), and my opponent has a morph and a two-drop on the other side of the field. I have two creatures, and 5 mana. I play Zurgo Helmsmasher, and swing. He blocks the other two creatures, trading the two-drop, and ...

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk

Khans of Tarkir having hound people makes me super happy.
Kresh and his Dogs of War may be getting a severe change-up soon, but gonna be raaaad.

Not sure how to make the fancy card like above, but I made something too! Desert Bust CC: 0 Artifact Tap: Add 1 to your mana pool Tap: Deal 1 Damage to target attacking creature. Activate this ability only during the end of combat step. Desert Bust doesn't untap during your untap step. 8: Untap Des...

Re: A (Forum-Based) Magic Game,

Kruphix, God of Horizons shares a home with Riddle of Lightning, which was pre-printed in Future Sight, where it shared a home with the delightfully paranoid Mistmeadow Skulk who himself would be later first printed in the spooky Shadowmoor with Gloomwidow, a terrifying spider to be reprinted in yet...

Re: A (Forum-Based) Magic Game,

Luckily Nicol-Bees and Chromium were both in Legends, so I'll swing for both in one go! Legends, which contains quite possibly my favorite piece of art with Indestructible Aura, also contains Nicol Bolas, Chromium, and Presence of the Master, which was in Urza's Saga. Urza's Saga also contained Annu...

A (Forum-Based) Magic Game,

I've been ruminating for a little while on how interconnected Magic the Gathering is for a while now, and then I had an idea. Nothing particularly special or original, but a simple thought nonetheless. Can we play Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon with legendary creatures? I've started calling it Six Degre...

Re: So that just happened (funny MTG stories)

At the Journey sealed event, on release day, I go and end up Green Red, with some decent pulls and a foil Bearer of Heavens. Match 2 I manage to get it onto the field every game. Clearly this was a sign of some kind. All three games, the world got dropped, with no cards in my hand. Game 1 I got beat...

So...are...are you guys gonna make another bunch of the "Diagram" mats? I need all the things. Not just some of the things. That's not nearly good enough.

Re: The Journey Into Nyx Happy Fun Spoiler Time Thread!

Alternatively, a Spirit Away reprint that loses 1 power in exchange for being a 1 mana creature.

I rather like tonight's spoilers. Would like to see the Gods, but these are cool too!

Re: A Carefully Constructed Counter to the Kitty Catmander

Huh. Dunno how I missed that one. Yeah, Teetering Peaks seems like a great land to put in. Come to think of it, I don't believe I checked any of the other Zendikar lands.

I'll be doing that shortly.

Re: A Carefully Constructed Counter to the Kitty Catmander

I like the Werewolves, but after much consideration, I decided to go with as many hound only cards as I could justify. I included the Instigator Gang mostly to follow up the "Every attacking creature gets +1/+0" sub-theme more than the dog theme. I felt if I extended into werewolves, the d...

A Carefully Constructed Counter to the Kitty Catmander

Well, mayhaps that's a bit of a misnomer. Carefully might be too gracious of a term. Anyhow, since I first watched Friday Nights, I've been pondering and pondering, and tinkering, and pondering, and finally came up with what I hope is a suitable counter to Kathleen's Catmander deck. Not a counter in...

Re: Bad Habits

Not dickish at all! I wouldn't expect them to remind me. I should have rephrased that, though, because more what I meant is, after I'd hit myself for forgetting that I had it, they'd go "Wait, what?" Not that it would matter because we'd both forget by the time I could use it again. The mi...

Re: Bad Habits

I am super bad about remembering to trigger or use my artifacts when I put them on the field. So many times during M14 draft, I have had a Vial of Poison and the mana to use it, and a chump to block, and I'd just sigh and go "Well, looks like I take 8 here." And then immediately face palm ...
