Re: Doctor Who
I can't say that I liked this episode. As soon as he was teleported, I had an idea of what was going on. When he got to the unbreakable wall, I recognized it as the very old science fiction trope of a time loop. There were some good parts to the episode, like some of the puzzles, and some of th...

Re: LRRcast - Workplace Accidents
I have so many different stories of workplace mishaps, including: - The time I found out that many carnival workers are paid in drugs. - The time I had hydrochloric acid poured on my ankle - The time the guy I work with got a screwdriver THROUGH his had - The time I clipped the tendon between my ind...

I make a really good Philly Cheesesteak. True cheesesteaks are very hard to find outside the Philly area. If you give me a sandwich with cheese on top, I'm going to  hard. Re: What won't you order at a restaurant?
Most pasta dishes, and most breakfast dishes. They're both just so easy to make. That said, subsets of the above that I know are work-intensive I will definitely order, like lasagna or croissants.

Re: IDDQDerp
Watching Graham and Alex play KSP last night was epic. It was everything I could have asked for. They were entertaining and silly, but at the same time, seemed genuinely interested in making things that actually flew. They were silly, insane contraptions, but they flew for the most part. Much better...

Re: The Ghost of Sexual Relations Past
I will take this opportunity to tell everyone to go watch Black Books. It is hilarious and one of the best series ever. While you are at it, watch Spaced and IT Crowd. I lived in an apartment under a couple that had a sex swing. That thing make the house creak at the very least. Great Feed Dump this...

Regarding "Extreme Feminists" I'm just going to leave this here, the most excellent "Straw Feminists" comic from the most excellent Kate Beaton: http://www.harkavagrant.com/?id=341 Regarding genderless pronouns: I personally try to use "they" and "their". It f...

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules
I don't like people who swear unnecessarily on youtube videos. I tend to curse a lot in person, and my response to people like you goes something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efZQhYu1E5s  Honestly, though, I understand that people don't like cursing, and I try to cut back if I kn...

Re: Feminism general thread
the problem I was trying to explain is exactly what you just said. you just said its ok for a group to oppress a individual who is not a part of their group. Either oppressing a minority is wrong or its not, and a minority can be defined differently depending on the situation. oppression is wrong i...

If you get upset that someone is calling you CIS/White/Male/Straight, congratulations, you now have an inkling of what that trans/POC/non-Male/non-straight person feels like when their Gender identity/color/sexual orientation gets used as an insult. If you aren't one of "those" straight CI...

Right, so I couldn't find a link to the 2007 study. I was able to find the abstract, though, and here is the pertinent information (and I did get a couple of figures wrong: [snip] One thing that I would like to append to this is that abuse is much more than just violence, and while it is hard to de...

Re: Feminism general thread
I'm with Vaelith, I am in favor of feminist ideas and ideals, but I don't think I could call myself a feminist because I can't really know what it is like. I can only empathize with women, support women, and speak out against and to the men who are behaving badly. Speaking of those men, I used to be...

Re: Steam Sales Awareness Thread!
So what have people bought so far? I've gotten:
Witcher 2
Battleblock Theater
Democracy 3
Card City Nights
For a total of like $15.
Anxiously hoping SpinTires will go on sale, probably won't though.

There's also GoodReads for the LRR book club, its a great site, and has a very useful group funcionality. Both Cam and Alex have both given very good suggestions for books.

Civ V would be interesting to me. I've been playing Civ for over 20 years, and I can't beat deity Civ V. None of my strategies from earlier games work.

Re: General LRL Stream Feedback
I hope this is where this should go. I've gone through all the Twitch archives, and made a Google Doc that has all the meaningful videos listed by date of airing(may be off by a day due to Twitch's stupid "x days ago" time stamp), who's show it is, what they are playing, and a link to the ...

Would there be any interest/value in a summary for the various streams? For example, "In this episode Kathleen got to Shinjuku, leveled up her main character to level 15, added Demon A and Demon B to her collection, and died 3 times." "Cam completed mission Impossible God, with 2 deat...

Hmm, I wonder if they're going to get all of the major constellations that originated in Greek mythology. Probably. They've got Cygnus, Canis Major and Minor, I'll have to check the card list to see what others show up. I imagine Aquila is a no brainer. Giant golden eagle would be an awesome Magic c...
