AKH Pre-release - how'd you do?
Suggested listening It's the topic for that thing. Do the thing, then talk about the thing. (personal side note, pre-releases are becoming an increasingly bittersweet event. As I was playing today, I realised that this event was literally the only MTG [yes, even digitally!] I'd had time to be able ...

Re: SpeedrunOneWord Ep01 - Portal
I really enjoy speed runs in general, so this LRR flavored take on it was a nice surprise. Having watched it, on the whole, it was excellent all around, but not without a few teeny wrinkles. But hey, it's a first episode thing - you don't expect to nail it perfectly on the first attempt. Specific th...

Re: Crossing the Streams
Agreed - and honestly some of the time I just straight up prefer it to Mario Kart. I think S&ASRT does a better job balancing technical skill and luck (most prominent example, Sonic's version of the blue shell can be consistently avoided with decent skill, but even if you hit it, the delay is a ...

AER Pre-release - How'd you do?
Maaaaaan... feels like just last week they were rolling out all the sweet new Kaladesh cards, and now there's another new set to contend with. Good gravy. Still, at least this is a *pleasant* surprise for a change. On the the subject of "pleasant" - having thoroughly enjoyed the previous s...

Re: Welcome to the Hodor Squad
Quick progress update - up to the 4th island. * Slowbro evolved, and is finally starting to contribute in a meaningful way. ('Bout f***in' time [Kappa]) * Got a little roadblocked on some of the recent "miniboss" fights, which was extremely annoying/frustrating, especially the resetting an...

Re: The Mixed Emotion Thread
Emotions are tricky. It was still pretty fresh when I posted it, so I guess I was feeling more of the bad with the good. And/or I was a little worried that the progress has overall been good, but that incident was particularly worrying. *shrug* Emotions are tricky.

Re: The Mixed Emotion Thread
Have an odd one today. So I've had anger issues for a large part of my life. I'd let some really dumb, insignificant thing get to me, and then I'd be yelling and swearing... there'd be a nonzero amount of property damage and self harm. The worst part is that it tended to be a self-sustaining cycle, ...

Re: Welcome to the Hodor Squad
(Mental note, remember to post here more often.) So after a slow start, I'm sitting at ~24 hours played and about halfway through the 3rd island. Current / final party: (I'm one of those weird trainers who plans ahead a little and only catches /raises literally the Pokemon I intend to use for the e...

My personal retrospective of PAX Aus 2016: (I'll keep it short for reasons which will become clear later) THE GREAT: * Obviously, G/K/P being there at all was always going to be incredible, and man, they did *not* disappoint. The Jackbox panel was hilarious, and their personal panel the next day was...

Re: LRR is starting to lose me
I guess I tend to agree with what seems to be the general consensus of "on the whole it's excellent, but here's my specific issues / nitpicks". For me, it's that the timezone difference means that I spend something like 75~80% of the streams at work, 15~20% is on during the "stupid in...

Re: Loading Ready Sealed League
Omega Lairon vs Artirian_Legacy Maaaaan... work has just been stupid busy this week. I arranged for a (mostly) off-the-grid weekend to recharge, but I completely forgot I still had a league match to do. Unfortunately, since I won't have any further access to MTGO until the next round starts (...the...

Auserker [0-2] Omega Lairon Game 1 was sadly a bit one-sided thanks to an unfortunate case of mana flood on my opponent's side. The upside is they were able to whip out Sorin nice and early... only to hit a mountain with his + ability, and then proceed to get eaten by dogs the very next turn. Game ...

Re: Loading Ready Fan Draft.
All the more reason to look into alternatives - MTGO isn't the only game in town, merely the one we're most accustomed to... and I guess has official support which is handy.
But yeah, if we all really want to fandraft badly enough, it's probably best to start weighing our options.

Re: Loading Ready Sealed League
Truly, some excellent matches. Thanks again friendo, it was good fun. From my side of things, Game 1 was a very good showing for starting at a mull to 5 with 2 lands and some thoroughly "meh" creatures. I couldn't really build back up from that, but I sure as hell put up a good attempt. Ga...

A different friend approaches, and in...

EMN Prerelease, how'd you do?
I silently debated whether this topic was strictly necessary or not - a lot of EMN pre-re discussion has already found a home in the general and/or sealed topics. But hey, I figure it's basically a tradition at this point and maybe it'll help keep things all in one place. *shrug* So anyways, I went ...

Re: LoadingReadyLIVE [the show, not the channel]
For my money, I really like how "This is Live..." sorta caught on as the unofficial tagline/opener for the first few episodes. It felt very "classic LRR", in that spirit of taking an improvised thing and just embracing it. Lord knows the fans do it themselves with all the in-joke...

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules
It's a tricky one... 4 weeks/episodes of a currently running and exceptionally popular show like GoT, I feel, falls right into that grey area for spoilers. It's not outside the realm of probability to assume that most people who really care about spoilers would be caught up *at least* that long. At ...
