Nokia (still the only non-US company in the top-10 list of best global brands!)
And less serious but equally important... Alkulukuja Paskova Karhu (see http://alpha61.com/primenumbershittingbear/)

Re: My piggy had an accident...

That's such a cute piggy (though I think it might be staring at me).
I wish I had a piggy bank like that. I once had a plastic elephant that was destroyed with one accidental drop, so now I have to do with take-away coffee cups from my regular coffee place..

Re: The "Post a picture of yourself" thread

falconknight, the only times I curse my hair is when I try to comb it right after shower. It turns into some kind of monster when wet... The only way to tame it then is to let it dry and comb later. Also, when braided it can serve as a weapon. Ask anyone who has been too close when I've turned aroun...

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z36/apocryphalt/lumessajpg.jpg This was taken last winter, but since I seldom have pictures of me taken/take pictures of myself this is one of the most recent ones. In short it's me in my LRRunners get-up and knee-high snow. My hair's not usually that curly... als...

Catching up to the forums after a summer of existential crisis. So much has happened since I last was here..

On larger scale, starting my second period in new school. At this rate I'll be a library technician in two years.

Re: ABUSE / HAUGULAGUGAGH!

As someone who's native language is something totally different from English, I find it quite hard to understand totally messed-up grammar. This forum (and Internet in general) is a great way of learning living language that you can't find in textbooks. Also, as many have said before me, correcting ...

My mom made me a birthday cake yesterday (a month late, nut it's the thought that counts, eh?). Thought might share these pieces of evidence with y'all. http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z36/apocryphalt/cake1.jpg http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z36/apocryphalt/cake2.jpg Chocolate cake with whipp...

Re: Canada Day!

I celebrate the Canada Day by celebrating (or 'trying not to think about') my birthday. So in a way we were born on the same day several decades apart :P (pssst - I think a dozen or so is a little more than 'several' ;) ) Nonetheless, cool that you share the glorious first of July with my nation! h...

Re: Something Exciting happened to me!

When I worked at a call center I had to sign a form saying that I couldn't say anything relating to the internal practices of the company I contracted for, or anything damaging about them, for a period of two years after I left. It did not make it any "cooler" or more interesting. This. A...

Re: Second language.

I'd loved to learn so much more languages, like Mandarin, Japanese, Russian, Spanish.. And I'd really like to improve my French and Latin (although I've pretty much forgotten French by now.. it's been three years since my last lesson). Some might disagree with me, but I think the Finnish school syst...

I find Hugh Jackman - especially in Van Helsing - very handsome. Then again it may be the weapons, hat or the leather jacket..

Re: Whats in a Username?

Cool story, 2stepz. A little after I found out about this kinda cool thing called 'the internet' I participated in a forum RPG in a long gone forum. It was set in Tolkien's Middle-Earth, and my character was called Eleclya (oh, those days... over seven years ago). Anyway, I made up a name for her mo...

I'd say I prefer feminist :D Somehow feminazi sounds too much like "let's collect sperm and then kill men, so they can't oppress us any more!"

Re: Boobquake 2010

Well, I'm not sure if the way I was raised is very feminist, then... I'm more like: "Well, yeah, I'm female, so I have *these things*. I have the right to do whatever I want with them, so IN YOUR FACE if it annoys you." I'm ok with people looking, but when they actually come to harass, it'...

If I step out of my room during Monday, I'll do the little I can for science. I think I might even have a shirt for the occasion - if the weather allows, that is.
(Also, how could a western, modern feminist not use the oppoturnity to annoy the conservative ones?)

Re: Bad Translator

So much fun...

"Weird music is weird." (after 54 translations) = "Special musical entertainment." Well, that's true, right?

"I never meant to kill your dog. It just ran under my car." = "I want to kill the dog in all". HAH!
