Re: The Limited thread
So, I'm sure some of you have had that problem when MTGO crashes in the middle of deck building and you weren't able to submit your deck. Well, I went into FRF-KTK-KTK, round one of my matches with my 80 card limited deck. And one game one of rounds one and two. That wasn't supposed to happen. I hav...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
I have a question about Hidden Strings and heroic. With Hidden Strings wording, can you target a heroic creature twice with it as a single spell and result in 2 heroic triggers?

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
What happens when someone goes Gravecrawler into Gravecrawler + Diregaf Ghoul into Geralf's Messenger into Brimstone Volley? You can't counter any of the creatures before turn three, and hitting three mana seems to be an issue given the fact you are running 19 land with no draw power. How about the ...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
Even with self mill, unless you're building around Battle of Wits, you want the consistency of 60 cards. I push it sometimes and go 61, as I notice no difference in consistency due to my deck being chock full of cantrips, but you want to keep it as close to 60 as possible. Keeps variance at bay, and...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
So, I just went to my first PTQ that so happened to be at the same venue as the lastWorld Magic Cup Qualifier in the US. It was hosted by ChannelFireball and members of the team milled about, and even played in events. One of the events was something called Friday Night Bounty. In the event, for eve...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
The counterspell you cast has to target another spell on the stack. It cannot target itself.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
I have a question concerning the Miracle Mechanic. If you reveal the miracle card as the first card you draw, does the Miracle cost apply to the whole turn, or just the phase in which you drew the card?

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
I have a question about the concept of "flickering:" If someone targets a creature you control (ie: targeting a Delver with Gut Shot) then you flicker the card at instant speed how does the stack break down here? Is it: Creature exiles then returns to the battlefield Card finds its target,...

Re: Describe your last tabletop session
If I may, what is your tabletop system based on? What is the system you are using for this? Pathfinder-Based, DnD 3.5, 4.0, GURPS, another unknown system? I always wonder with homebrews. I'm currently GMing 2 parallel Shadowrun campaigns with the same group. I had it start in San Fransisco, with all...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
What falls under the realm of Unsportsmanlike Conduct? What constitutes a warning, what constitutes a game loss, what constitutes a match loss? I ask this because one of my opponents recently was trash-talking throughout the entire match (ex: "Oh, really? A fucking net-decker? Why don't you gro...

Okay, that makes sense there. I have another question concerning Undying Evil and Phantasmal Image. If someone targets my Image with Undying Evil, does it give the Image Undying, or does it simply go straight to the graveyard due to being targeted?

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
I have a question regarding Havengul Lich . Say you have the Lich and you are attempting to cast Priest of Urabrask with a Heartless Summoning on the field. If you activate the ability of the Lich, targeting a card in the graveyard, and your opponent kills it in response, can you cast the creature c...

Re: Mass Effect 3
I have been playing for the last few days, and I have to say my class of choice is Infiltrator. Tac Cloack with an M-98 Widow makes each shot I fire with some degree of accuracy a kill shot against almost all class of Cerberus baddie. It's nice to be able to kill an Atlas by myself. @Zethyr: I can s...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
This isn't a rules question, but something I would still like to ask:
What is it like to judge a tournament, SilPho? What kind of things are involved? Have you ever had to disqualify someone before?
This is a rules question:
How does the rules enforcement level work?

Re: Did that really come out that long ago
I remember playing The Sims when it came out. The damn game is 11 years old now. Just a year older than my sister... and she's never played it... She doesn't know what the hell an original Game Boy looks like, nor knows what the original Super Smash Brothers was like. It's mindblowing to know that t...
