Trying out actual colors and backgrounds and stuff, and getting hype about Shadowrun: Hong Kong in the process.

Re: Arclight_Dynamo's Anime Frustration
Totally second Cowboy Bebop. Space Opera/Noir done really well. It has been and remains my favorite.
Studio Ghibli movies are also decent intros because they're gorgeous. I'd recommend Princess Mononoke or Spiritied Away, but it's hard to go wrong with a Miyazaki film.

If you like Serial (I sure did) maybe look into Radiolab or its parent podcast This American Life. I'd also recommend Snap Judgement if you're a fan of the 'story about people' podcasts.

Re: Dark Souls Trading, Transfers, and Talking.
Dark Souls is all about the fashion. First character (faith build) rocked black iron armor with the antiquated dress for that breezy mobility, and I stuck pretty hard to a divine claymore. My dex/pyro I mixed it up and went with whatever was lightest/looked good, and fell in love with the silver kni...

Re: Sustained or long term games
Good advice from both posters above. Might as well share some of my experience as well. I almost exclusively run long campaigns (2+ years on average), and the most successful ones have been the player driven stories. I tend to sink most of the prep hours into defining the setting and first arch, whi...

Re: Top 5 Boardgames
@JackSlack I haven't, but from what I just internetted it sounds cool. Questing and fighting black knights is always choice. Now if I could convince my friends to play a game with a betrayal mechanic. :/

Re: Top 5 Boardgames
Throwing in a vote for Catan and the Arkham games for sure. Seven Wonders is also great and has some unique mechanics. And if you really like losing at board games there's always Pandemic.

Re: Feminism general thread
Little late to the party here, but briefly: I identify as feminist/ally, and think it’s important for anyone who believes in gender equality to do so as well. I find egalitarian to be too watery a word for meaningful use. I’m in favor of gender neutral pronouns, although admittedly not a fan of the ...
