Crapshots: Watch+Play Freedom!

Idea:

With Graham and Kathleen gone to PAX AUS, Alex realizes he is free, breaks free from the chain and walks out of the Watch and Play dungeon, and immediately falls into the sub ocean.

Re: Talking Simulator

I am unsure if this is the correct place to bring games to the attention of Cam and Alex, but this game seems to bring up a lot of questions about today's surveillance state and things about ethics. It is a game where you play from what I can tell, a double blind information gather person type? You ...

Re: Loading Ready Resleeve's Exalted 3rd Edition

Apologies for the triple post, but I figured I would drop a line and tell you guys I am still alive. Been incredibly busy IRL, and I am in my first semester of University, CSU for the win. In any case, I hope to reconnect when I can, and I hope things are going well.

Re: Modern Deck Brewing Advice

Actually, because 4 omnaths are seeing 3 omnath's and/or elementals die, then you get 12 bolts, which is enough to kill someone who's gotten up to even 36 life. You're right! Man. I missed that. I am not that great stacking triggers and I keep forgetting them. So, what say you ebMusicMan? You want ...

Re: Modern Deck Brewing Advice

Hello everyone, I hope this is copesthetic here. I searched for a sticky thread, or something specifically for modern but came up empty. Omnath, Locus of Rage. Red and green? My favorite colors. Giant stopmy creatures? Yes please. Game ending landfall trigger? Let's go! Hmm, if you want, you can tr...

Huh. Sure. I think I might be able to make a snipery or explosivey type of person. I got some ideas. I need to find a copy of the rulebooks being used and see if I can't cobble together something.

Re: The Magic Venting Thread

It seems worse than Bloom, it is 75% of the top 8 and if no deck emerges to keep it in check soon i think question is if it is banned in April or June and what is being banned How can you keep it in check? It seems too fast. Like by the time you get out a Blood Moon, they probably have lethal on th...

Re: The Magic Venting Thread

Whelp, these new modern Eldrazi decks and the price hikes really are putting a crimp in my style...I keep missing the important dates and I miss the bandwagons. :P I best try and finish my playset of bloodstained mire and get some more shocks before things go crazier. Who here thinks modern Eldrazi ...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread

I got a fair amount of Cohort cards out of my fat pack, and all I could think of when I saw them was "why would I ever use this ability?" Maybe if you have a lot of Kor Ally tokens floating around? Well, from my own understanding, Cohort is a mechanics that is less actively aggressive tha...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread

Right. Update from the above deck list. Got a couple of Blood Moons from Chronicles for 30 a piece, they in good condition. No idea how to effectively use them though. Let's see, I think this deck list won't screw me if I board in a couple of Blood Moon...or do I have too many non-basics in there? L...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread

I read a article somewhere that someone thought WOTC was doing it for monetary reasons, that Modern is not profitable unless they do ban a deck every once in a while so people will be incentivized to buy more cards. You guys think that is the case?

Re: They finally did it... LRR got me to start playing Magic

These names are derives from the Ravnica, Alara, and Tarkir blocks, where they were the names of factions that had those colours. In addition, there are older slang terms for places that do not accept the Tarkir color combinations. RUG: Red Blue Green, Temur BUG: Black Blue Green, Sultai I need to ...

Re: They finally did it... LRR got me to start playing Magic

Hmm, my first bit of advice, is to start researching what Modern Deck you want to play in a year. Because once Standard rotates, unless you are willing to continually invest hundreds of dollars to make a remotely competitive deck it is not worth staying in. Not to discourage you or anything, because...

Looking for Players, 3-6. Interest Check. RPGs Various.

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread

Right, had a flat tire on the freeway and as I waited for a service truck, I got the idea to convert my G-Wave Nyxthos deck into a Tooth and Nail deck. I am going to run this mono green devotion ramp frame, 42 cards in total. And I am going to run 4 of Tooth and Nail and Emerkul and Xenagos. That le...

Check up on archetypes and zone drafting.

Though when in doubt, grab cheap spawners and some big bombs to ramp into.

Also bone splinters, that works pretty well with spawners.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

Another question about Omnath Locus of Rage.

What would happen if someone board wipes Omnath with several elemental tokens? Even though they all die at the same time, Omanth will trigger for however many Elementals die and deal n*3 damage to target creature or opponent right?

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

Question! Genesis Wave and ETB effects in relation to cards that respond to ETB of other stuff. What happens when you have put into the battlefield a card like Courser of Kruphix, or a Landfall related card, via Genesis Wave and a whole bunch of lands? Does Courser trigger and you gain life? Also on...
