Re: LRRcast - Our Computer History

Aces over Europe was awesome the one time I got it to run. I ended up playing much more A-10 Tank Killer and A-10 Silent Thunder What I remember most about the Aces games (besides 'flying' a bomber aka flipping through all the gunner positions and shooting down fighters) was the copy-protection: a ...

Eldritch Moon

...is not Innistrad's silvery moon. Taken in total, the findings presented in this work support the presence of an object of significant mass. Most likely a new astral body, an eldritch moon of sufficient size as to provide a gravitational pull able to disrupt the normal patterns of both the tides a...

3-1 at 2-Headed Giant with my 10-year old daughter (her first organized event). We had a great time, and she is the BIGGEST LUCKSACK EVER when opening packs :D Ended up with her in red-green werewolves (not great in 2hg, but not the worst) with Burn From Within, Sage of Ancient Lore (great in 2hg if...

He's very 'Emo Philips does Sports'. Emo played the clumsy shop teacher in Weird Al's UHF, for one - that's where I'm familiar with him - and that kind of voice and delivery is his stand-up schtick.

Ian "Booming From Beyond The Grave" Horner. I'm actually surprised he didn't cross over after skating on those mini-dolly things. Somehow Calex was even funnier with the behind-the-scenes. Have you had that Chandra skateboard deck since Strip Search? "Trim, Crop, and Ken Burns" :...

Did you all debate NOT telling the crowd that you were going to make the crapshot during the panel until you showed it? It's still amazing (and the crapshot is hilarious).

Re: Sidewalk Slam 2 - February 2016

Another "not a wrestling fan but enjoy Sidewalk Slam" chiming in here. I watched a bit when I was a kid, a LOT in the late 90's when my friends were into it (but was never a big fan), and haven't paid much attention since, but it's still neat to listen to. Wrestling that I would watch, if ...

It took me a second look, but I love how many of the cover characters are LRR people. Graham and Cam are sure getting into trouble at the Spit Roast, and even Paul is recognizable at the computer. Watch out for that goat going for your back door, Paul!

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

Not A Judge answer (but I was also interested in a similar question so I looked it up) - 'When a creature dies' happens when a creature goes to the graveyard. Kalitas replaces going to the graveyard with exiling, so things like Zulaport Cutthroat won't trigger.

Re: Homelands explanation

I started playing around the Homelands-Alliances gap. I bought a LOT of Homelands and Fallen Empires, mostly as they were very cheap (most places had them marked down to 99c per 8-card pack) and I was a poor high-school student. I was disappointed in general with both, though looking back, Fallen Em...

Re: OGW Pre-release: how'd you do?

1 and 3, which made me sad. My pool was 'ok', but several of my rares and my promo were stone-cold unplayable, which didn't help (Hedron Alignment, Inverter of Truth among others). I got Herald of Kozilek, and red was good but my blue was abyssmal (see Hedron Alignment). I did get two Cinder Barrens...

Re: Oath of the Goatwatch Spoilers

I don't think that the equipment deck is normally, if ever, going to pan out. There are three pieces of equipment in the entire set . The common one is pretty bad. The uncommon one is already, but expensive. The rare one is good, but... rare. It also doesn't help protect the equipped creature. I do...

Initial impressions of the full spoiler (from an inexperienced sealed/draft perspective): The required colorless cards are going to require acting like you are splashing another color, or doing a monocolor + colorless theme, from the look of it. There are quite a few cards that reference equipment. ...
