Re: Game of Thrones (Contains spoilers)

This may be a small thing, but... Do you feel like everyone is being a little hard on Tyrion? I mean, to outright say to him that "Your actions caused this" seems like a little much. The city was on the brink of civil war, and the Masters had already taken back Astapor and Yunkai. It feels...

Cards Against Desert Bus - Mk II

Hey folks! So after the phenomenal response to Cards Against Desert Bus last year(over $5000 raised...it was kinda nuts), I've got the go ahead to make another set for DB10. My hope is to make the set even bigger and better than last year. So on that note, I am taking submissions once again for card...

Re: Desert Bus for Hope: The Documentary

I'm not sure I've ever jumped on to a Kickstarter faster to donate. Looking forward to this a lot! And RoboNixon - Graham talked a little bit about this during a Q&A they did on stream. They said for right now, they're mainly focusing on getting funded at all. After that, there is no specific pl...

Re: Shameless Self-Promotion Thread!

Hey Atifexe! Thanks for playing! I'm glad you're enjoying it so much. The response from people who have played it has been phenomenal so far, though getting the word out is the little tricky. But I definitely see your point, the difficulty of Endless Mode has been a definite problem for me. Based on...

Re: Shameless Self-Promotion Thread!

I've recently released my game - Circuit Scramble - on Android! It's a 2D puzzle game centered around circuit based logic(AND, OR, XOR logic gates). If a few people feel like playing it, I'd really appreciate it! I'd love to hear what you guys think. https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... itScr...

Re: Moving Abroad

Ich spreche ein bisschen Deutsch. I am working hard on my language skills right now, trying to get myself at least to competent. Berlin is a highly international city where most people will at least have decent English(probably better than my German will be), but I still want to be able to function ...

Re: Moving Abroad

Very few, if any. Not in Berlin at least.

My fiancee grew up in Germany, so her parents and some friends are still there, just in a different part of the country. So ya, adjusting to lack of a social circle is going to be high up on the agenda.

Moving Abroad

I've got a major life change coming up. In a few months, my fiancee and I are going to be moving to Berlin, Germany(from Canada, so quite a hike). In almost all ways, I'm extremely excited for this move. Berlin is an amazing city that I've basically fallen in love with during many visits there, and ...

Re: Good videos to get friends interested in LRR

Crapshots are a great, low risk way to introduce new people to LRR. I think both 'The Home Show' and 'The Bomb' make pretty good intros(I've used the Home Show for this purpose myself).

Also, if they seem in any way receptive tech puns, any of Krog and Torg's sketches would be ideal.

Re: Cards Against Desert Bus!

I do see your point with that. A lot of these issues I can catch when I edit things, but I get what you mean. Though the base CAH set does involve white cards that are verbs over nouns, though they are less common. I think the idea will be to make the black cards more general, so at least any noun w...

Re: Cards Against Desert Bus!

Hey everyone! With Desert Bus only one day away, I wanted to give a bit of an update. So Cards Against Desert Bus is complete and is set to be given away sometime during the run of Desert Bus next week. I'm extremely excited to see someone get their hands on it! In addition to that, submissions are ...

Still got beat handily by the number of variations of "Beej" I got. People LOVE Beej :P

Re: Desert Bus Question

There's was a tweet from the Fangamer account about the Desert Bus shirts - https://twitter.com/Fangamer/status/663792250199998465

Has a picture of about half the shirt at least :P I think they will go on sale at the start of the run.

Re: Desert Bus Craft-Along 2015

Gah, that map! So much want! And thanks RoboNixon! I think it came out rather well, and it's actually quite playable on it's own - though Memo is right, when you combine it with a regular CAH deck, you get some hilarious combinations. No Skeletor's Dick though :P In keeping with the spirit of DB, ev...

Re: Canadian Federal Election 2015

That's very true, we'll likely have a left-majority, even if we see a Tory minority. I guess part of me has little faith in these two-party 'alliances' that oppose a minority - I think there was a similar distribution the last time the Tories won a Minority and the result was...ineffectual all aroun...

Re: Canadian Federal Election 2015

I really wish we had some kind of preferential balloting system. The idea that we may end up with another Conservative government because the Liberals and NDP have split the left cleanly in half is a little frustrating to me

Re: Canadian Federal Election 2015

I have to say, these "Justin Trudeau supports the terrorists!!!!!" clickbaity, shock-and-awe titles are starting to grind on my nerves. It completely, utterly misrepresents the point of the argument, almost to an absurd degree. The issue at hand being whether or not immigrants and dual cit...

Re: Elaro's musings on the whole "working" thing

I'm not going to debate the merits of basic income or not, since I don't really have the experience to discuss that. But the whole idea that working for an employer who dictates your tasks is 'beneath the dignity of a person' I find a little ridiculous. A persons Time and Effort do not inherently ha...

I tried to make it a little more...significant, so I had a wooden box made for it as well, which I think definitely added something to it. http://occamsrazor.webfactional.com/CADB_Pic...

Re: Books you're reading now

An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth was one of my favourite books I've read recently. Chris Hadfield is a remarkable person. Decided he wanted to be an astronaut at 9 years old even though, because he is Canadian, it was quite literally impossible. But he just went forward with that in mind anyway...

Re: Books you're reading now

I'm currently finishing For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway, which I've found incredibly interesting, even if Hemingway's writing can get a little dense. I'm excited to finish, so I can start reading Andy Weir's The Martian , which has taken the top spot in my "I can't believe I hadn't ...

Re: RIP Christopher Lee.

No one packed more life lived into 93 years than Christopher Lee. He was a truly remarkable and extraordinary person, it's hard to believe he's gone.

Though, I'll admit, the thought of him strolling towards a cottage for a fresh cup of tea with Peter Cushing makes things a little better.
