Re: PAX East 2014?

So we know that LRR as a whole will not be at PAX East this year, but what forum members are planning to attend? I shall certainly be there playing games in the tabletop area most of the time.

Re: Elder Scrolls Online

I've put some more time in and gotten my orkish fighter up to level 10, and I still can't decide how I feel about this game. As an Elder Scrolls game it's really strange having all these other people wandering around the world playing at the same time you are. I went in one dungeon yesterday and had...

Re: Elder Scrolls Online

My experience in the game thus far has been uneven. There seem to be a few quests that require quest items to drop that are unplayable when there are too many players doing them at the same time. When you have like 20 to 30 people all waiting for the same thing - well it doesn't work out too well. O...

Re: Old Republic

I've recently renewed my subscription but due to my easily distracted nature I keep starting new characters and don't have any very high level chars. Also: I am bad at MMORPGs because I'm so naturally anti-social. But if there's a LRR guild I'd happily join up.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

Hey all! I'm back after about two months without a working computer and my first post to the forum is an Ask A Judge question: If I have a Gyre Sage out and play a Elvish Arch Druid does my sage evolve or not? The sage starts as a 1/2 and the druid is a 2/2 so the sage should evolve I think, but the...

Maybe this has been covered before. Can Abrupt Decay be used to get rid of an emblem? What's the CMC of an emblem anyhow?

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

I need clarification on Snapcaster and Havengul Lich for a deck I'm considering. Snapcaster first: If I flicker Snapcaster withe Cloudshift as an instant during, for example, the declare blockers stage of an opponent's turn can I flashback something that normally only casts as a sorcery like Essence...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye

Okay - here's my decklist for my new deck. Need a few singletons to complete it but I'm almost there. Sleeving now and wondering if it's worth trying this at FNM this week. Stuffy Lich Reanimator decklist 4 Havengul Lich (need 3 more) 4 Stuffy Doll (need 2) 1 Isperia, Supreme Judge 1 Mikaeus, the Un...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye

Any suggestions for a goofy build idea I have? The plan is, for the most part, based on that epic Phylactery Lich + Stuffy Doll combo James and Graham pulled off on their LRR Drafts awhile back. I want to do this black and red. I figured adding a bunch of Blasphemous Acts to instantly zap their lif...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye

So I decided to play around with MTGO a little this last weekend so I could get cube draft tickets. I'm in that awkward and painful stage with MTGO where I have enough cards to build a couple decks but they're awful, awful decks that could never win because I don't have enough cards that work with e...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye

I mis-played repeatedly tonight. Still had fun though - coming to grips with a new deck I built last night. Totally messed up using the Kessig Cage Breakers - I could have won at least one close game if I'd been putting out all the wolves I should have. (Would have pumped the hell out of my Champion...

Re: Nintendo Fans Unite

I used to be a hard core Atari fan back in the day. After about 1997 or so I expanded out and decided I'm just a video game fan in general - which means I make an effort to own every console so I can play all the games. I'm a little sad that I don't have a WiiU yet and will get one as soon as they g...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye

I had an absolute blast at FNM today. I had promised myself that I would not play Selesnya, because I for some reason keep drafting Selesnya. My rare in the first pack I opened was Grove of the Guardian. Then the person to my right passed me Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage. So... yeah. I drafted Selesnya. Buil...

Okay, so I'm late to the party here. I had seen the thread but had avoided it because I was afraid it would be a joke or a cry for attention. I feel bad now since it's such a thread full of win and love. I've cross dressed a few times in the past (mostly in a Rocky Horror or Halloween context) and i...

Re: U.S. Election Day

Odd. I distinctly remember writing a blog post last year about why I would be voting for Obama today and now I can't find it. Anyhow, voted for Obama - which doesn't make much difference since he's running like 40 points ahead of Romney here in MA, but also voted on other crucial matters. Here in MA...
