Admiral Memo [0-2] KeiranLC
Two very close games. There wasn't a whole lot of blocking going on in either game. I went for the small and quick approach, Memo had more high end. A couple of key instants got me there the turn before I would have died in each game.

Re: Loading Ready Sealed League
KeiranLC 1 - 2 hacofo The games were super close. Game 1 an ill-advised attack on my part when we were both low on life sealed my fate. Game 2, I got there with some slow draining until my opponent was in burn range. Game 3, I was low on time so I pushed a very aggressive strategy until a) I ran ou...

I didn't check closely in my pool but do the prerelease pools on MtGO have an additional foil card in them, bringing it up to 91?

Re: Loading Ready Sealed League
When it comes to pairings, matching rank is much more important in tournaments with Swiss rounds. When it comes to our League, which runs much closer to actual round robin, the most straight-forward way is to determine the entire season of pairings before week one, once you know exactly who is parti...

Re: Magic at PAX East 2016
As much as I hate to say it, I'm not too surprised there's no MTG panel. They're preferring to time those right before big releases now, and Shadows over Innistrad has already come out. Basically everything we'd normally see out of something like that occurred on that big GP weekend shortly before p...

I'm definitely up for playing SOI. I don't have a strong opinion about the booster packs issue so I'll go with what we settle on.

Randus, what should I do if I've contacted my opponent early in the week, but I have not yet gotten a response at this point?

Re: Loading Ready Sealed League
I'm happy that I've been able to pull out of the Sealed Deck slump that I've been in that not only was affecting me here but my attempts at the MtGO sealed league. I've actually won my last 3 sealed matches after losing the previous 12...

Re: Loading Ready Sealed League
KeiranLC 2 - 1 Auserker The first two games were fairly one-sided, with each of us losing after stumbling on mana. Game three was a bit of a slog. We both had no problem with mana, but I was drawing my creatures as needed, especially once I had a lantern down. I was worried after an Awakened Planar...

Re: Loading Ready Sealed League
KeiranLC 2-0 hacofo Game one was very close in the early and middle stages. We went play for play for a few turns and it looked like I would lose to their fliers. A timely Transgress the Mind, though, showed me what I needed to play around for long enough that I was able to close things out. Game t...

Re: Loading Ready Sealed League
KeiranLC 1-2 SaloAbraxas Emeria Shepherd was the all-star of that match. Must have brought back at least half a dozen creatures over the course of the match. Though I'm pretty amazed I pulled through in game 3 after I got completely wrecked on turn 5, but I think that's Keiran's story to tell if th...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
I was under the impression it didn't sell all that well myself. Like it was really popular for a month, then it just kind of trailed off. I'm not going to complain though. I may be misremembering it, but I believe Conspiracy went to a second print run and I think the second print run did not fully ...

I am happily surprised, but not shocked. The first Conspiracy set went over extremely well in general. I am happy because it went over well among my circle of friends in particular, and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

KeiranLC [0 - 2] Omega Lairon We also had a "just for fun round" afterwards. These games proved even more challenging than the official round, as my opponent's deck seemed to have found a much more brutal edge to it after the edits. Very spicy. My first round opponent will tell you that t...

Re: The Magic Venting Thread
Possibly an unpopular opinion, but... I am so sick of people expecting me to let them take back plays after something has changed/the board state has advanced. Even at prerelease when not everyone knows all the cards, I feel it is unreasonable to expect your opponent to let you change your mind aft...

Re: OGW Pre-release: how'd you do?
And I had one more online prerelease last night, the LRR Fan one. I went 3-1 again on an aggressive R/W/g deck with a Captain's Claws and Stone Haven Outfitter. The only loss I suffered was at the hands of Adam and his 4-color concoction. It was fun.

Re: OGW Pre-release: how'd you do?
Ok, so today was 3-1 with a pool that included Dread Defiler, Ruinous path, foil Chandra, and foil Cinderglade... all of which that I didn't use, because red and black were both terrible for me. They didn't even make good support colors. What did get me there was a WGc build with Stone Haven Outfitt...
