Re: Fight the Future 23 - The Knife Of Never Letting Go

This is one of the book series that gave me hope for dystopia fiction again, in particular the second book. When I was reading this book, the action overwhelmed me and it was only on reflection that I saw the gender politics aspect. I think that technique of layering was really effective because it ...

Re: Fight the Future 17 - Enders Game

The main thing I took from Ender's Game was a fear of the collective. I imagined being one of the aliens and having the exact same thoughts as everyone else simultaneously. Re: Doctor Who

I've been a little reluctant over this series. Moffat's been living up to his reputation for straggly storylines for a great deal of it. Those last two episodes though...Heaven Sent scared me more than any episode has since Blink and Hell Bent was just genius. Nice to see a little glint of the War D...

Re: Introduce yourselves! (A friendly topic for new members)

Hello, my name's Joanne. My username comes from a long-haunting anecdote that probably needs a Scottish accent to understand. Just...say "Do you want a biscuit?" really fast. An internet friend introduced me to Magic in about September last year and one morning, I forget when, just threw f...
