Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread
So, I got to meet The Elite from Bullet Club :D https://i.imgur.com/yKmHxgh.jpg They did a show in Dublin with an Irish company, Over The Top Wrestling. Also on the card, we had current RoH TV Champion Marty Scurll (third time I've seen him, and he's as good as ever), Will Ospreay, Jay White, Nixon ...

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread
Funnily enough, I never thought it was banned cause I remember a guy using it as a finishing move around 2011 or 12, but then he stopped, and the general rumour was he wasn't allowed use it cause it was too close in appearance to Cena's AA (sort of like how nobody was allowed use a superkick while H...

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread
Man, all these years later and I still feel a bit squeamish about the Vertebreaker. One thing I'll say that I've liked since Rollins came back, his pedigree looks better. Before, and I dunno why cause he's generally excellent in the ring, his pedigree just looked awkward when he was delivering it, n...

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread
Yeah, he was super hot after coming back and beating Cena, and then suddenly he was stuck as part of the League of Nations (which was always weaker than the sum of its parts) and lost all momentum.

Re: Rugby!
Big fan of rugby myself, the sport has really grown in the last 10-20 years in Ireland. Here in Europe your big club tournament is the European Rugby Champions Cup, contested by teams from Ireland, England, Wales, Scotland, France and Italy. There's other leagues that take place, but the only one of...

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread
Poor Del Rio has just been spinning the wheels since he lost the US title, at this rate it's hard to see him staying much longer.
Shame, cause while I find his character to be non-existent right now, he's good in the ring.

So, last weekend I went over to England to see a Revolution Pro Wrestling show, got to meet Matt Sydal and Katsuyori Shibata :D https://www.instagram.com/p/BHshVo-BH7i/ https://www.instagram.com/p/BHsheqQhf5K/ It was a super fun show, second time I've gone over for their Summer Sizzler. I'm not surprised he's back as a heel, just disappointed.

So, brand split is coming back, and Smackdown is becoming actually live on Tuesdays. Odd way to announce it, I thought they would have had it as part of the Shane vs Steph feud on tv.

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread
Yeah, the no selling at the end is tedious as heck.
Best match of the night was definitely the IC title match, everyone in that match really went for it. Asylum match was fine, but it dragged on a bit (apparently there was a segment cut out of the show, so it got an extra 10 minutes as a result).

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread
If this isn't some sort of strange storyline, I can't say I blame him wanting to leave. He was utterly committed to Stardust, but it really was going nowhere.

Re: Sidewalk Slam Ep7 - Payback 2016
I can't say I was confused, but I follow wrestling pretty closely so I generally know what they mean even if they don't go in depth on points. On the subject of the League of Nations, I like that WWE kept true to history and that their incarnation of the League of Nations was exactly as effective as...

Christian is still signed on for stuff like the Edge and Christian show, and hasn't been an active wrestler in years so that one doesn't really change anything.

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread
I don't see why they'd get rid of Tamina for that, only her in ring ability, then again they did get rid of Sean O'Haire after Piper ruined their tag-team from drug use. WWE are strange with their releases. It wouldn't be the last firing by association. It's pretty crappy on WWE's part, but it happ...

Sandow was a massive missed chance, as was Barrett. Sandow was hugely over after Wrestlemania last year when he turned on the Miz... Then they feuded, Miz won, and they dropped Sandow from TV pretty much altogether.
I cannot say I will miss Hornswoggle or Cameron.

So, Ryback may be gone , which seems to explain the Punk "tribute" a bit better. There's also the fact that Ryback is just a bit stupid. I remember there was one time he pissed off management when he started doing Goldberg's moves in a match for pretty much no reason. He wouldn't be the b...

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread
WWE edited signs in the crowd that were anti-Reigns for the website. A sign that said "When it Reigns, it bores" a little behind commentary on the live feed just said "When it Reigns" with a blank area in a picture on the site. That's just childish, and it's stuff like that that ...

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread
Lot of Hey Arnold fans in the crowd last night. And ouch, that match ended quickly. Okay, what bull was that women's match? Missed spots and hesitation throughout and a crap version of a Montreal Screwjob to end the match. Natalya and Charlotte's match on Raw 3 weeks ago was far better. Bret was re...
