Re: Books you're reading now

Currently reading through a few (at least one of which will show off what I do for a living): Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa Code Complete 2 by Steve McConnell Naze Besto Tsuku sa nail no ka? Why Don't You Do Your Best? By "Ueda Jiro" Musashi is a really well written (in my opinion) fictional b...

Re: The Confession Topic: Get It Off Your Chest!

Taking my car to the mechanic always makes me feel super awkward. Wish I knew how to handle it better than awkwardly stumbling then admitting that I don't know how cars work. There are a whole bunch of threads on Reddit about learning how cars work, and dealing with mechanics. Here , here , and her...

Re: The Confession Topic: Get It Off Your Chest!

I've not been around here for so long, have been out of the LRR community for such a long time, and haven't sat and watched their stuff like I used to (as soon as new video was available, I'd watch it) for such a long time that I feel like it's taken a back seat. ... Well, technically it has. Then a...

Re: Current Musical Obsession!

I told Google Music to create a "random playlist" the other day. The first song that came up was Mirrorball Satellite 2012 by M-Flo (link should open at 1 minute 46). Since then I've gone back to their first album and have been lis...

Re: There's (Probably) An App For That

I've been in the market for a podcast manager for Android, myself. I use Podcatcher deluxe , myself. It's pretty easy to use. My only gripe is that when podcasts that you subscribe to otherwise (asy through iTunes, or whatever) don't have a publicly available rss feed, it get's difficult to add the...

I'll be completely honest, I've started listening to She & Him recently. I love Zooey Deschanel's vocals on their second album (I've not given their third album much of a chance of late, though)

Re: The Confession Topic: Get It Off Your Chest!

Small update: my friend passed away on Monday morning. I was keeping it to myself (until I booked my travel to his funeral). I don't think I've fully realised what the sentence Leigh passed away this morning, at 6am means fully. I'm sure that I will, in time. But it feels ... strange... like nothing...

Re: The Confession Topic: Get It Off Your Chest!

My best friend will die before Christmas. His cancer has progressed so much that it:s now a case of cherishing each day he' still with us. The hospital have set up one of their beds in his living room, and he pretty much sleeps for 20 hours a day. I've gained all this knowledge from family friends, ...

Re: Foods What We Have Made And Eaten

So, here's the thing: You take a lot of pasta, two tins of tuna, a couple slack handfuls of cheese (any you prefer), some red pesto and some (but not a lot) Ragu. Cook the pasta Whilst the pasta is being dealt with, you mix up all of the other ingredients (minus the cheese) in a big bowl Once the pa...

I've been very into Chap-Hop recently. Mostly Mr. B the Gentleman Rhymer (asn Professor Elemental's music sounds a little flat to me). The very first Chap-Hop song I ever heard was Chap Hop History . I'm quite looking forward to his 4th album (out next week) called "Can't Stop, Shan't Stop".

Re: The Zombie Apocalypse Thread

Being an out of shape, nearsighted software engineer doesn't bode well for me. I would have very little value in the a zombie apocalypse, initially. There aren't that many situations, during a zombie apocalypse, where the heroes call for the software engineer. That being said, I'd be more than willi...

It's been years since I was last here, and years since I spent time consuming all of LRR's output regularly. I even missed the Kickstarter, but not because I didn't know about it.
