Re: Bbattle for Zendikar Prerelease

Pulled Ally Chad, Landfall Hydra, and a bunch of allies, went WG. Load round 1 agains RG landfall. Removed the 3GG ally with rally +2/+2 and added the 0/6 wall. Ended the day at 5-3. Best moment. I have a wide board of allies out, opponent plays Void Winnoner. I play stasis snare on my turn and swin...

Re: Sell me on D&D:Next

Check out 13th Age. It's the best of 3e/3.5e/4e and the best of indie RPGs rolled up into one nice d20 system.

I was waiting around for D&D Next, but 13A came out and I haven't looked back at D&D since.

Re: Penny Arcade and 'The Mike Problem'

The main issue for this latest PA mucking about comes from comments regarding Dickwolf merch from a PAX Q&A. Any of Mike's trans* comments are usually brought out to support various things in relation to the Dickwolf comments from the Q&A (Either 'see, he just doesn't get it' or 'see, he can...

Re: Penny Arcade and 'The Mike Problem'

One idea is to watch the drive, but any money you would donate to Child's Play, donate to a local children's charity instead.

Sure, you're missing out on raffles and such, but you'd not be engaging with a PA property while still giving to the kids.

Re: Penny Arcade and 'The Mike Problem'

So, first, I know I come and go from the LRR forums and community. But seeing the Crew there, running into Lord Hosk again after he gave me a BITN, made me come back and poke around. The internal back and forth in my head is what's getting me to post. I'm not going to rehash a lot of what's been sai...

Re: Brewsters Millions

Since I am pretty sure I would try for the big prize just to donate it as I see fit anyways (I want to grow up to be Steven Dengler), I would just cut out the whole uncertainty and get that from the start. 2 mil, say 1 mil after taxes, pay off my debts, pay cash for a reasonable house, take a year o...

I played it with some co-workers a few years ago.

Afterwards, it was mutually agreed upon never to play when an impending release is near.

Re: General Tabletop Discussion

Maybe.

Also, playing online is almost painless these days. Especially if you're a Google Plus user.

Yeah yeah, <insert no one uses G+ joke here>.

Seriously though, G+ allows for tons of ways to play RPGs online. I can demostrate if needed.

Re: General Tabletop Discussion

I'll add this DriveThruRPG link for the Dresden Files bundle here: http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/8 ... sden+files So the first session of Dresden Files the players and the DM actually build the world, and then the characters the PCs will be playing together. Since the game is modern day supe...

Re: General Tabletop Discussion

Dresden Files. Just play the initial world building and character setting and if that doesn't start a fire under you, switch games to something else.

I would play Dresden Files just for the first world building session over and over again.

Re: General Tabletop Discussion

I love roll20 in Google Hangouts, we use it for a 13th Age campaign. Roll20 doesn't have as much setup as other VTTs I've used, like MapTools.

I also created a Hangout app called Dicestream that just rolls dice in the video overlay, for use in Cortex+ and FATE games.

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread

Confession time: When playing constructed I try to keep my deck to 4 rares or less. My Undead Alchemist deck could do with a bunch of Dimir rares, but I have to get by without them, since the Alchemist is rare and I need all 4 of him Therefore, when I beat someone, even on MTGO, who has a deck full ...

re: Hosk Yeah, I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels there are less panels this year. Though the point about them vetting might also make a point. To be fair I had friends and friends of friends able to make it last year only because they got to run a panel, but some of those probably shouldn't ha...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread

I had two Undead Alchemists out in a MTGO game today, a Shriekgeist with an equipped Trepanation Blade , and a few 2/2 zombies out. Opponent has a Boros deck that between fliers and Holy Mantled creatures, can swing in for lethal. They swing, I Tragic Slip the 3/1 flier so I'm at 1. I swing in with ...
