Re: Breaking: Extra Credits leaves Escapist

We don't know Moviebob for sure. All he said was "I am Spartacus," which just means he's with them and supports them. It doesn't mean he wasn't paid. Moviebob's tweet was a reply to Extra Credits' one telling fans to continue to support the other contributors, not the one calling for unpa...

Re: Breaking: Extra Credits leaves Escapist

Unforgotten Realms ended a long time ago, if The Escapist has been having money troubles that long then surely they shouldn't have been picking up more shows? I'm starting to suspect malicious motives here.

Re: Breaking: Extra Credits leaves Escapist

So what took all these other people to come forward in the first place? or is it no one paid attention until it was EC doing the talking? Presumably fear of getting the boot. Having your content posted on a reputable and popular site is a great opportunity, so many people won't want to lose that ov...

Re: Breaking: Extra Credits leaves Escapist

I would have thought that Bob was #2 behind Yahtzee, considering he too has his show and his column.
Is Yahtzee eating up the Escapist's entire budget, or is he not on the payroll either?

Re: Breaking: Extra Credits leaves Escapist

Could it be both? I mean, I don't want to assume a bad motive, so I don't think "stir up trouble" is the right word, but I do definitely wonder if they're trying to highlight how big an issue it is/the full scope of it. Good point, it's in the public eye so it's probably not just for pers...

Re: Breaking: Extra Credits leaves Escapist

Well they asked after someone on Twitter posted about not being paid. I don't think they're looking to stir up trouble, just curious to see how widespread it is.

Re: Breaking: Extra Credits leaves Escapist

The way in which Alex repeatedly quotes "save Extra Credits" as the agreed usage for the leftover donation money seems to hint that this was the actual term initially used. Could have just be a misunderstanding by James and/or Alex as to what "saving Extra Credits" meant? EDIT: I...

Re: Breaking: Extra Credits leaves Escapist

Hopefully it was a horrendous misunderstanding. I'm sure we'll hear The Escapist's side of the story soon enough. Kinda hard to pretend this never happened. I personally am going to avoid their site as much as possible. Since I only watched Extra Credits and LoadingReadyRun/Feed Dump/Unskippable I'm...

Re: Breaking: Extra Credits leaves Escapist

This story is pretty sickening. I can only hope that the Extra Credits team will move onto a host who appreciates them, that The Escapist learns from this ridiculous behaviour and that the rest of their content creators aren't being treated in this way.

Re: there is really no tabletop thread?!

I've only played a few sessions of Dark Heresy and one session of Pathfinder, but I can't wait to get stuck back into it after summer. Best and worst moment: In Pathfinder we were stealthily climbing down a ladder into a room filled with goblins. I went in first, took up a good position for a sneak ...

Re: new gaming tumblr, The Gamery!

Had a quick peek, and here's a little feedback. 1. Make sure your spelling, punctuation and grammar are up to scratch. The first few posts are a bit shaky, but the StarCraft one seems to have it sorted. Keep it up! 2. To encourage productivity you might want to set yourself a weekly deadline, for ex...

Super Mega Worm - A free app in which you play as a giant worm and eat humans as revenge for their polluting. It's great fun, worryingly satisfying to chomp people - especially the moms with prams.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/04/ ... -qriocity/

Not only is the PSN offline, but account details, personal information and possibly even credit card details have been compromised.

There are much more important things to be concerned about than just the PSN being down.

Re: My Problem With Forums That Get Too Big

This thread has been a surprisingly educational insight into this forum. When I joined a couple of weeks ago, this place felt massive - what with the metric butt-tonne of posts in the "Introduce yourself" thread alone. However after observing for a while it appears that things are a lot sm...

Re: The Escapist's new Monday show: Jimquisition

I've not yet watched the Jimquisition. I've heard a bit about Jim Stirling before, but after seeing the ads for his Escapist show I was sceptical.
And after reading the almost unanimous disapproval I doubt I ever will give it a chance.

If you could make a video without any limitations...

1. Who'd be in it?
2. Where would it be set?
3. What would happen?

Anybody remember the original biker mice From mars. Did anyone else watch Street Sharks? Judging by the stuff already pos...

Voted for "cool design", but ideally would have voted for "LRR in-joke" too.
Cool designs of LRR jokes, e.g. the Desert Bus Crest shirt was awesome, and had a lot of stuff specific to DBFH.

Well done, it's awesome to see people so motivated to do good things. Unfortunately I only got into Desert Bus late last year, so my contribution ended at a DB crest t-shirt. I'm very much looking forward to following DB5 from the beginning, and hopefully getting more involved. FYI £400 is about 625...

Re: so turns out Magicka is pretty damn awesome so far

Magicka is great, it's a shame that it was so buggy when it was released. While not perfect, it's in pretty good shape at the moment. While it's fun to play solo, throw in 3 friends and it is one of the best co-op games around - whether you use spells to work as an awesome team, or accidentally kill...

Re: It's LAN time, What to play?

Trackmania and Armagetron have both been mentioned - we play these in our monthly LANs with around 8 players, and they're always a blast. Free as well. We played Team Fortress 2 with the "Karaoke Mod" on once - the server plays a song to all players, who must sing along in voice chat or th...
