Re: sWs Ep11 - July RAWs

The July 4th food fight was good value for comedy. I got a good laugh out of that, and out of the WWE.com exclusive about trying to find out who threw the pie at Kevin Owens.

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread

Well, that's the thing, isn't it? It could be literally anything. I've seen so much speculation and I don't want to get into that mess right now. There's people suggesting everything under the sun from an unreported concussion/refusal to get checked out for injury to hard drugs and there's just no w...

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread

I'm actually pretty surprised to hear the news, if only because I never would have suspected Roman, of all people, to get a Wellness Policy violation. That being said, though, I'll refrain from further comment unless we learn more.

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread

He is an amazing heel but he's also really popular, and with him having been off injured for so long, there was a lot of goodwill towards him that made people want to cheer him. The crowd was so psyched to see him make his return, the pop was enormous. So a lot of people are disappointed that instea...

The League were facing Kalisto, Sami Zayn and Cesaro when that happened. SmackDown is weird.

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread

I was wrong about literally every prediction I made the day before except for the result of the Heavyweight Championship. That said, on the whole I enjoyed the show. Many quibbles, but on average enjoyment.

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread

If that's happening, that's awesome. I know most people I know who watch wrestling are very keen to see the "Diva" name dropped or downplayed in favour of "Women's Championship" or equivalent.

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread

RAW spoilers.

I like what's been happening with Roman these last couple weeks but I guess I had a head start; I've always been rather less down on him than most people I know.

Dean's little red wagon full of toys was sort of the highlight of the show though.

Re: Sidewalk Slam Ep04 - RAWs & Roadblock

Well, more or less. I have some obvious issues with calling it a "men's" soap opera, but it's not the first time I've heard the comparison made. There's remarkable overlap.

For someone on the other side of the world, does that mean content comes out (effectively) one hour earlier?

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread

Personally, my fantasy booking is quite different. Dean beats Triple H and the main event at Mania becomes Brother vs. Brother, leading into the Roman Reigns heel turn I've been waiting for since I can't even remember. As for Brock Lesnar? Dean can still have his match against him earlier in the nig...

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread

There's no way that Dean is beating Triple H.

I can't stop hoping, though.

I am glad to see that the Lesnar/Wyatt feud hasn't actually been dropped, also; I was briefly afraid that it would be overshadowed and then fade away.

Re: Sidewalk Slam - Fastlane 2016 & RAW

I totally bought the fake blood when I first saw it. Subsequently I saw a lot of discussion about it and kind of felt a bit disappointed. A little bit like I was annoyed at myself because I should have known better, and a little upset that the "magic" of the moment was lost in hindsight. B...

Dean Ambrose vs Brock Lesnar looks to be really interesting. I like the idea of indestructible vs. unbeatable.

Some of the wind has been taken out of my sails for Wrestlemania, but that'll be a good watch.

Re: Pro Wrestling Discussion Thread

Fastlane spoilers. I had a post with my immediate feelings yesterday but I deleted it because I figured that I'm only a casual fan, and I should let the event settle before I try to have feelings about it. I was actually angry when I saw the end of the main event. It was a very enjoyable match u...

TL;DR Rules - 61 card Singleton (60 card deck + 1 sigil) no more than 5 creatures per deck (including spellcache) - 20 life, 1v1, best 2 out of 3, no sideboarding (see spellcache below) -Instead of a Commander, you have a Sigil, your signature spell. You can cast it repeatedly by adding 2 to its CM...

Re: Sidewalk Slam 2 - February 2016

Also just another quick note, I know the video component is a lot more important to this, but I hugely appreciate the ability to download it and listen while I am driving as I have a very long commute. The audio version means I can listen to the whole lot over a couple of trips in the car instead of...

The "Ambreigns" thing actually made me stop the podcast to go check to see if it was actually a thing or just a portmanteau joke.

I... don't know why I doubted it.

I'm gonna go think about my life a little.

Baked my birthday cake today! Kind of proud of it even though I know it doesn't look remotely professional, but it's my first experiment with this particular (vegan) recipe. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b343/narrikk/9CEEE5BE-39B7-4082-8945-FAAA47BEED9F_zpsastrotqy.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com...

Re: Sidewalk Slam 01 - Royal Rumble 2016

I don't think 2 hours is an unreasonable amount of time to talk about pay-per-views, but it would be serious overkill if there wasn't a specific event to discuss.

I am basically a casual fan - I watch the major PPVs and catch RAW maybe once a month. I felt this podcast was very much on my level.

Re: Politics and the Vague Fear of Something Called Donald T

I have a couple of problems with that statement. First of all, how do you define "contributing as Americans"? It seems as though that is a statement that could be interpreted in a vast number of ways, many of them much more reasonable than others. The second question is, can we look at the...

Sorry, yes, you are correct. I got a little tunnel-visioned on the question asked and was trying to say that it didn't matter if the Commander had glass in its mana cost, and in so doing communicated badly.

Re: Colorless Mana and You

The best way I can think to explain it is that "glass" (the mana that Wastes produce) functions a little like a new colour but is not a new colour. If your commander's colour identity is colourless (I.e. If it casts for colourless or for generic and has no other signifiers of colour like c...
