I hope your appointment goes well. I know there isn't much I can do but I'll send supportive thoughts your way just in case it helps.

Re: The depressing depression thread

Medication and exercise (even just taking a walk around the block) have both helped me. Music is good as well, and watching shows, especially comedy. But you need to find something that works for you of course. I didn't get completely better about the kind of things you mentioned until my medication...

Re: Books you're reading now

I read The Handmaid's Tale... and then learned that a series was about to come on out Hulu. I don't have hulu though, but that was interesting timing. Mind you, I read it because my new boyfriend was reading it, and it's possible he started reading it because of the TV show, so maybe not a coinciden...

Re: The depressing depression thread

I just wanted to drop by and offer virtual hugs to those who could use them *hugs* I know I'm not very active on the forums anymore, but I'm still really grateful for the help I got here so I do my best to drop by every now and then. I'm sorry about your trouble at work, Memo. It sucks. I don't know...

Re: The depressing depression thread

Thanks! I emailed my teachers today (I didn't go again) and I'm going to try and do as much of the work from home as possible. Last night I found myself despairing in bed but my husband woke up and gave me a bear hug and I just try to forget about everything else, and it helped a bit. I'm lucky that...

Re: The depressing depression thread

My depression is bad again. I made an appointment with my doctor but it's in a month. Why does it take so long to get an appointment in the US? I miss France :( I've already skipped school once and I haven't done any homework. I feel like just dropping out completely. I'm scared. I'm going to try an...

Re: The depressing depression thread

My husband is in Vegas for a tournament and I'm feeling incredibly lonely. Which is weird because I have six pets and my boyfriend lives next door, and I've felt much less lonely in the past at times when I was actually alone. I've been trying to work, study, play games and watch shows but I can't r...

Re: Alex's Stream Shelter? Safe Spaces? Echo Chambers? DISCUSS.

The allergy analogy may not be so good or may be perfect, based on your stance on the subject: it has come out recently that the reason peanut allergies (and many of them deadly) have become more and more common in the US is because the "nut-free zones" prevent people from devoloping an im...

George and Sissi have both used the quilt too but I didn't have my phone (and therefore my camera) on me at the time. Trouble spends a lot of time on it. They all seem to enjoy it a lot :) Thanks again!

My apologies for the double post, but the rest of my gift arrived! http://i.imgur.com/WLisu53.jpg?2 The picture doesn't capture the text on the envelope really well. It reads "Happy Belated Christmas! Happy New Year!" in a lot of bright colors. Already a great start! Then I opened the enve...

Re: Seventh Annual Secret Santa: Sign ups Closed

You're welcome, King Kool! Glad it all arrived on time. The book was because of previous gifts exchanges between you and Elomin + Sunstone. It was half gift gag, half hoping it would be good anyways. Sean says if they had let us keep the toe he would have wanted to display it at home and not let me ...

Well the pattern called for crocheing as tight as possible, but I wasn't doing it that tight. I didn't have any trouble sliding it through until it broke. But I'll keep an eye out for that with my new hooks, thanks for the advice :)

Bar room hero, what kind of stuff do you like? It's a bit tricky recommending books blindly, a few hints might help.
