I personally say 1.2 or 1.1 + plugins, vanilla will cause exactly the same major issues of griefing and etc, so anything stable will do.

Its a good system if you know how to use\build it properly.

well as a mostly underground builder whit few representatives here and there i would just say heh, nothing changed, can't say its a problem, ill just keep doing what i do every night, try to take over the world!!! i mean build and reshape mountains to fit my projects inside XD

nope we all hoped it will be, but the world generation is still by the old rules, sea level 64 and high hill biomes still don't pass the 126 limit, just additional air space right above the clouds.

Don't think the server being down today is part of the map update due to the fact it went down at a weird hour relatively,
But I'm sure it will be back up as soon as whatever happened is cleared out by our awesome roots and admins.
