Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread

Anyone try out Saturday Showdown? Whether from lack of interest or the holiday here in the US, our store barely launched. Fun to play some casual standard outside Game Day though. Only one person brought one of the tier 1 decks. My first match my opponent dropped a t1 Thriving Turtle, and it did 10 ...

Re: KLD Pre-release - how'd you do?

I went to two Pre-release events on Saturday. Finally a legitimate excuse to wear my Chandra goggles from Pax East :) Picked up a Botanical Sanctum and Key to the City for my promos. Went 3-1 in the first event. Pulled an Animation Module, foil Eliminate the Competition and Kambal and built an aggre...

Re: Standard Discussion

Hope y'all had a good time at EMN game day! Recorded my best result in standard so far - second place with w/u spirits, (ridiculously fun deck to play). And locally there was a superb variety of interesting and innovative decks out there today, the format seems very healthy at the moment. Glad to h...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread

Good luck to everyone attending an EMN pre-release this weekend, have fun out there! Thanks! My two went OK, going 2-2 in the first one and 4-0 in the second. Really liking emerge. Didn't open anything super valuable, but had fun with geier reach sanitarium. Stitchers graft was pretty good too. Hop...

http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/perfection-comes-for-you/ http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/hedron-dust-may-cause-lycanthropy/ I brewed these up today, super quick, so they're probably not the best, but I'd love to hear some feedback on each of them. Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread

Okay, after this weeks Magic Fiction, nothing can tell me it's not Phyrexia messing with Innistrad until I'm told otherwise. too much of what was said in it has an overly Phyrexian sound to it. There's even a reference to Mirrodin in it. It seems like the perfect bait and switch to Emrakul. Both wa...

Re: Standard Discussion

With regards to planeswalkers and legendary creatures and their uniqueness and legendary rules, how do you determine how many to put into your deck? It feels like it can be easy to have to few or to many. It depends a lot on how much your deck relies on the effect the legend or planeswalker is prov...

The esper demonic pact deck from CFB today seems like a decent control budget option. Sorin looks like the only $10+ card in the deck.

Re: Standard Discussion

@square1: Olivia, Drana & Arlinn all are at their best in creature-heavy decks. Shifting more towards spells makes Jund no less awesome, but I feel like the deck will end up a very different kettle of fish - consider building the spell-heavier version from scratch rather than trying to accommod...

Just to share one semi-interesting idea I had:

Ojutai Exemplar Turn 4 into Turn 5 Nahiri = Tap any creature, then -2 to exile it. Exemplar is also human for tribal concerns. Could be powerful in a spell heavy Boros deck.

Re: New to the Forum with an Old Cranky Vorthos' Complaint

What deck would want Kor, Bounding Krasis, AND Werewolves in the same deck, you ask? Your guess is as good as mine. An equipment deck! Kor buff and search for equipment and spending mana to equip allows your werewolves to transform without needing to waste your turn doing nothing. And a flash creat...
