Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
Pulled a "kill everybody at once" move with my casual mono-black deck when I finally got my friend group back together again. I durdled about with a couple Baleful Eidolons deterring attacks until I became a somewhat large target when I played out Fate Unraveler, though the Red-White weeni...

Re: Born of the Gods prerelease
I 2-1-1'd* the first one I played, 1-2-1'd* the second, but my favorite deck of the day was played by the guy that was next to me in our pod. All 3 of his Theros packs had scrylands and his two Born of the Gods packs both had Gild (he even pulled the Gold token in one of the packs). He had the most ...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
Bummed out. Finally can afford to play, but my playgroup never wants to get together anymore. I can't even get anyone to commit to a pre-release.

Re: Kerbal Space Program
I'm working my way into a nice little relay system where I have a station & lander orbiting the Mun bringing science up to orbit where my regular Orbiter can take it back to Kerbin. Love being able to move science from one ship to another! Hardest part was getting decent amounts of fuel out to t...

I'm beyond delighted that Papers, Please is winning here. It's one of literally 4 total games I've bought all year, which is saying something for me.

Re: Wizard's Tower: A new Casual Format
Built a tower from my M14 fat pack and ran a couple quick solo playtests as all four players. From what I can tell, this will be very, very fun with actual people! Now if only I can get my group together long enough for a game...

Correct, it's a special (and expensive) pack with specific cards all printed with a Mythic Rare symbol and new artwork.

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
I had a terrified moment when I saw the Sun Titan spoiler from Heroes vs Monsters when I thought they had reprinted the Titans in Theros, but I'm hopeful that it's just Sunny reprinted for the duel deck. Have to admit though, the flavor certainly works. I really don't want to see them back in standa...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
I don't even bother with the Vault packs, I'd be too terrified to ever play with the cards, so there's no point in me buying them. I'm way more excited about that new UBR Vampire commander they teased, but then again I'm a sucker for anything Innistrad apparently.

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
Holy cow, Theros officially looks awesome.
"Heroes" look awesome. And it looks like the "Challenge" decks (in this case, the Hydra) will be official Wizards versions of Horde Magic. Color me excited!

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Here's a question: at the M14 prerelease, I was playing against one of the friends I'd dragged there in our second game, and halfway through the game he played out his promo Megantic Sliver. He's only ever played in the Return to Ravnica block prereleases, so he didn't know he wasn't allowed to play...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
Just want to triple check on something: if a creature is hit with Pacifism, if it later becomes Hexproof (in this case due to Ranger's Guile), does the Pacifism fall off?

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
3-1 in the prerelease. Didn't open anything valuable, but Nightmare (that's my horse! *slap*) and Garruk's Horde made a good top-end for my green-black ramp deck. When it wasn't churning out a few fatties it also had a decent midgame with some vampire tribal (aided by a Door of Destinies ) and a nic...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread
It's going to be weird when ISD rotates. I only started playing Magic when Avacyn was new (immediately falling in love with Innistrad and promptly buying an entire box of that set), so up until now every card I've owned has been standard legal. It always gave me kind of a feeling of pride that I was...

Re: Kerbal Space Program
Getting frustrated. I can fly quite well... if I can't see Kerbin. Once Kerbin comes into view, my framerate plummets and the slightest control input (even on fine controls) translates to too much movement to actually work. All of the Scot Manley videos I watched seem to have helped at least somewha...

Manley almost single handedly sold me the full version. I'm going to be spending the whole day tomorrow taking my Kerbals to the Mun and setting up a Kethane mine.

Re: Kerbal Space Program
Welp, my rockets are capable. The MkXII did a munar orbit and returned successfully, and the MkXIII attempted a landing but broke a strut and crashed. The XIV was launched for rescue, since Bob survived the crash landing, but I messed up the burn and didn't have enough fuel to land, so I parked XIV ...

Can the basic 1-man pod hold a passenger? That's the only capsule available in the demo, so I just assumed a rescue was out of the question.

Re: Kerbal Space Program
Sadface. I'm only running the demo right now, just trying to get a decent Mun-lander, but alas I have lost my first Kerbonaut in space. (Had a few launch pad accidents, but I don't count those.) The MkVI version of my rocket made orbit with fuel to spare, so I pushed it and tried a free-return Mun o...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge
When I cast a non-creature spell with Ruric-Thar on the board, does his damage ability always go on the top of the stack infront of the spell I just cast? It does indeed, which is quite good for me as it caused an opponent in my first Ravnica block draft to kill himself casting what would have been...

Re: Life Counter smartphone apps
eanwhile, at Competitive I'll always use pen and paper, as it's just more reliable... I can't accidentally knock the dice over or hit the Back button and lose track of the life totals. That can happen? All the ones I've ever used have remembered life totals even if you accidentally close the app. Y...
