Re: Design a Card

For some reason I dremt about this, but it stays in my head: a UB planeswalker with a -X ability that basically says "you may activate this ability as if it was a minus ability of any planeswalker on the battlefield, where X is the cost of that ability". How would you phrase such an ability?

Re: Design a Card

Would like some feedback on this design, especially if it is too powerful:

[Name], 1UBG
Legendary Creature - [Type]
Sacrifice a permanent: draw a card.
Sacrifice 2 permanents: [Name] gets indestructible until end of turn.

Re: The depressing depression thread

Lately I have been feeling worse than usual, although not as dire as it used to be. Feelings of not having a place in the world, of being lost and confused and not belonging anywhere; of not being good enough, of being a cog in a machine, of having to keep be continuously fighting and struggling for...

Re: AKH Pre-release - how'd you do?

I went 2-2 with a mediocre BG deck. It didn't have as many creatures as I would like, or even a single bomb and the pool was fairly weak (no value whatsoever), but it was fun to play. Seems very bomb-heavy though, so not having one made me feel that I am in a great disadvantage.

Re: AER Pre-release - How'd you do?

I went 2-2 with a UW fliers deck and my promo was Metallic Mimic (which was fine in my deck, but not exciting), but I have to say that this was probably the least exciting prerelease I played, for a few reasons: 1. My pool could only support UW, and was full of do-nothing, non-creature artifacts. 2....

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

After I cast Ponder, is there a time in which my opponent gets priority between me looking at the top 3, choosing to either shuffle or not and then drawing the card?

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread

So for the first time since I've been playing, we've got actual standard bans. Standard attendance must have been abysmal for this to happen. I agree. I know Emrakul is problematic in the "oppressive and unfun", but Copter and Reflector Mage are very surprising. They are very efficient, b...

Re: New (old?) Standard Rotation

I stopped playing standard not too while ago because it was too expensive for me regardless of the rotation change. This new change won't bring me back, but I do think it is a good change. A steady block-by-block rotation had the problems of key cards of decks being constantly replaced and as a resu...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

Okay, that's good to know. I did it a few times after they said "go" and I said something along the lines of "Wait, on my main phase as you pass priority..." but I wanted to make sure I wasn't getting it wrong.

Re: The depressing depression thread

A bit of a vent, as a few weeks passes since I stopped taking antidepressants. I don't think I am falling again, but my life feels very grey these days. I feel ugly and socially incapable, I am objectively the worst in my art class, and in general I feel unhappy with the way my life is, although I d...

Question about priority:

Let's say I want to cast Eerie Interlude on my opponent's turn to flicker my creatures and have them return to the battlefield on their end step. When is the last chance, during their turn, I get to do so?

Re: KLD Pre-release - how'd you do?

I went 2-3 after a sleepless night and all my opponents playing green and having bombs (2 greenhulks, 2 fumigates and Chandra come to mind), which I think is an alright achievement. I could have gone 3-2 instead, but drew 4 lands in a row instead of any of the 9 removal spells my deck had. I was pla...

Do vehicles have summoning sickness? My understanding says no, as they are not creatures, but I am not sure about crewing it on the turn it is cast.

Re: The depressing depression thread

My life changed a bit after I moved to Finland. Re: The depressing depression thread

I watched Inside Out in the cinema with my siblings when it came out, and afterwards they said that they "understand me better now". I found it curious, because the film did a good job at presenting depression overall, but depression is such a wide and varying thing that one story can't e...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread

I just moved into a new country, and I there is a small Magic community here. Being poor now, I can no longer afford drafts and Standard, so I was thinking of playing commander or the budget modern spirits deck I have been brewing. I feel rather tense about entering a new community and into formats ...
