Re: Fight the Future 01 - Divergent

I am not Paul's clone from the future, nor am I his filtered voice! Unless the words of this very message have been filtered to sound like it's coming from me... Who am I?!??! The intertitles are by someone I know, my Italian friend Chiara Cont, and I we should start crediting her fine announcing wo...

What a wonderful, bittersweet wrapup to Desert Bus (delightfully neutralizing any stress caused to long-term addicts by the late post). The montage was so great. Last year ended with a bit of a whimper. But along with the surprise at the end of the broadcast, this makes the end of desert bus 2008 a ...

Fun cutaways, but these need more of a story or premise - or at least one more interesting than "people trying to get their iPhone or X box replaced" I'm thinking some kind of conflict, that goes over the whole course of the episode (also might help to think in terms of A story, B story). ...

If it's not live, I think I would prefer a highlight reel thing. These are pretty long and only drive home the pain of not being there (eg not being able to read the pie slice labels or hear many of the comments)

- Love the ambition of this. Your lives as single camera sitcom. Go! - Strong miscellaneous gags, in particular mastery of the cutaway - Needs more of a theme, or premise, per episode to tie it together - Also the people doing something that is visually unusual and interesting. - Needs way more wome...

That video didnt start till 3 minutes in, and ended 1 or 2 minutes early. But I liked the concept of a Spore primordial soup kit... this is fertile territory - how about making a vid with the creature creator?

Funny: 3 of 4 it's a bird it's a plane - any three (remember the comedic rule of 3s!) Coffee shop Pickup line "solid gold yacht. BYOB." Not funny at all: Two guys with hats (is this leading up to something? If so it had better be an amazing payoff to justify the dead spot in the middle of ...

I'm finding the many many boxes and nested boxes at the top of the main page confuisng and unpleasant to look at, particularly the grid of four boxes in the upper right (the innards of which are nested 4 layers deep!) It took me a while of staring at them to figure out what they were, the latest vid...

Great! The kind of cascading silliness LRR does well. Stuck perhaps a little too closely to the premise, and didn't need the "organic" angle. Went into the silliness red zone for me (which is good) at the "From the earth, to your table" ending. Loved paul's excitement.

Like the last video, I felt like this one had a funny core idea but took its time getting there. The guitar stuff went on for so long I thought it was the point of the video. And Matt's playing with the figures in the last one served no function at all. It's a hard thing to do I know - you want to e...

Who is your celebrity dream date? (for those who are attached, if you were unattached) I mean date: so spending time together not just of the naked variety. What is it about that person, and what would you do?

This might be the first time I've laughed so hard at a video that tears leaked out of the corners of my eyes. Loved it. Two things I thought were especially impressive: you were ok with having a minute or so at the beginning without any laughs, just setting the scene and creating versimilitude. And ...

That was impressively sacrilicious! Loved Graham's kindly delivery and the set. I have a complaint: there was 1 and half minutes, almost a 1/3rd of the running time, before the actual video started. The rest was advertisement and in-joke, neither of which I found too funny. I liked the ads at first,...

INSTANT CLASSIC! And not because of any gimmick in the premise (which is old hat) or technical aspect, but sheer skill. What was so great about it was the swift and frequent shifts from one *kind* of joke to another, a cornucopia of them in fact, so that each one both got its own separate detonation...

Good premise, and picks up at the end with escalating ridiculousness. I've noticed a trend of lots of draggy static scenes shot in peoples apartments - could it be that the relative ease of shooting reduces the motivation to tighten the script? This would have worked way better for me if vastly spee...

Anime

I'm sure the landscape has changed since my last contact with Anime (that would be waterloo's CTRL-A, the Club That Really Likes Anime), particularly in terms of the breadth of what's brought over, but can someone tell me, is there literally a single series that's of interest to adults? I mean adult...

This was terrific! By far my favourite of your con videos. A good script, and just the right length, with truly spectacular execution of the ending. I was into Anime as a teenager, when it was all exclusive and bootlegged, but since then Graham's characters attitude is mine - making an exception for...

Brevity

Yes!! Exactly! And with that mindset you vault past 99% of the roughly 200,000 assholes out there right this minute shooting each other and posting it on the web. (and also Judd Apatow, who apparently didn't realize that adding 18 minutes of improvised flab to the 40 year old virgin made it *less* f...
