Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread

Presumably whoever actually won the GP knows that an Eggs deck can just continue to go off in response to the "Draw a card" triggers, rather than letting them resolve and getting decked by them... Yes I believe so  The player who won with it was Nathan Holiday and he obviously knew t...

Re: The General Magic: The Gathering Thread

So I watched a lot of the coverage this weekend of GP San Diego, a Modern event won by an Eggs deck. All I could think of though watching when it was one of the featured matches was the most recent Friday Nights... so congrats to Jer, apparently in my mind you just won a GP!

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye

This Pro Tour has been very exciting, and the Top 8 is insanely stacked with great players. I was really rooting for DeTora and Gerry Thompson in the final rounds, so it was great to see both of them pull out big wins, in one case very historic even, and get into the top 8. But to sort of handicap i...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye

I believe my RTR fat pack was 2 Vraska's, a Sphinx's Revelation, an Epic Experiment, a Pack Rat, a Cyclonic Rift, a Slaughter Games, a Cryptborn Horror, and a Jarad's Orders... so it was quite stacked.

I'd be fine with a less stacked GTC one, not even any mythics, just like 9 Boros Reckoners

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye

WOAH Jek! looks like a pretty solid draft. No smites though? Why I love Smite... last night I was in a Boros mirror and I played a turn 5 Firemane Avenger with a couple Daring Skyjeks already out so next turn I'd get all of their Battalions which would basically win me the game. My opponent used Ma...

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye

Gatecrash seems excellent so far. So many really clever and interesting dynamics. I've won games by making some of the lesser used methods. Although opening a sealed and getting two Enter the Infinite's is rather a kick in the teeth. I very much have enjoyed it so far too. As I kind of expected I'v...

Re: Introduce yourselves! (A friendly topic for new members)

Greetings all, name is Josh and I've figured it was about time to come join these forums. Back in September I got back in Magic the Gathering first via the Duels of Planeswalkers game and then MTGO, and while looking for content to catch me up I stumbled on MTGO Academy and the LRR drafts. Since the...
