Re: Peter Faulk RIP

Now he can't come back and read me the Princess Bride again tomorrow. Sigh.

Side note, as a kid, watching that, when he says "As you wish" at the end, I took that to mean that he was Westley.

Re: Forum Game: Post Mortem

Rats. While cleaning their cage, they manage to maneuver their rolly balls so that it strikes me in the head. It doesn't injure me, but it confuses me enough to bang my head on their cage, getting it caught between their wheel and the cage bars. I pass out and suffocate on their messy bedding. They ...

Re: Human rights victory

For once, my state is an awesome state. I've been waiting for this for so long, I still can't believe it's finally happened! I dunno, in general I feel like my state is an awesome state. This just made it more awesome. Of course, I live in the city, and we tend to forget there's a whole state up th...

Re: Venting Thread Beta

I had this vent on twitter, and this is probably the better place for it, since I accidentally directed my vent at someone who didn't deserve it. But anyway. This whole "I called it" bull shit. Anytime someone says they were surprised by an ending or a plot twist, and someone HAS TO come o...

Re: Doctor Who

I'm still puzzled by the BBC's reticence to milk the franchise. I suppose they're doing a good job of keeping the brand interesting and not exhausting the license, but I want more Doctor Who! Now! Just think, if it were a traditional American television show, we would have well over 100 new series ...

Re: What tabletop/live action RPGs are you playing now?

As I said in the last tabletop thread, I'm in a Rifts game. It's been pretty fun. The downer is I play with my friend, her husband, and their friends who I don't know very well, so on a few occasions, I have to play without my friends. Not that the group hasn't been fun and welcoming though. One of ...

Awww! But it only really seems to go up and down. Where's the 'what's that behind me?!', the 'I'm loving this cheek rub' and the ever famous 'I'M A SNAKE, I'M A SNAKE, LOOK, MY TAIL IS FLICKING AND I'M ALL HISSING AND STUFF!'? Wasn't there a toy like this a while ago, jedi-mind trainer or something...

When I was really poor back in college 1.0, and didn't have any meals on my meal plan, or money, to get through the day without feeling super hungry, I used to steal and eat ketchup packets.

The moral being: don't be frivolous with your money when you're poor.

Huh, just watched the episode. All I could think of was my late teens - early twenties (I'm officially in my mid-late twenties) when I was at my most cynical. I think it was just SP's way of acknowledging to the people that watch it that if the show seems shitty now, maybe they should really conside...

It'll be sad when he goes, though, in this case, I hope he goes while he can still make the choice. Generally I'm against suicide but, like Lisra, I've seen people in the late stages of Alzheimer's and dementia, and it's really heartbreaking for everyone involved.

I really want to play Arkham Horror. I have all of the expansions (since I'm a collector of Lovecraftian stuff anyway) but can't find anyone that will play with me.
