Re: I Could Make That

@davefp: Wow (haha), that's a really cute shirt. I'd love to see more of your wife's work. @taki197: There will be future blog posts about sewing. Up until a couple years ago, all my sewing experiences invariably ended with me in tears and threatening to throw furniture. Then my folks gave me a new,...

I Could Make That

Hey everyone, look at me, look what I can do! It does feel a bit like that's what I'm doing with this post, but I truly hope that people will find this interesting. And by "this" I mean "the following announcement" and by "the following announcement" I mean my new blog....

Re: Canadian Ski Resorts

Crazy expensive cost of living is, I agree, going to be an issue just about anywhere you go. But if you go to Whistler, Mount Washington (on Vancouver Island), or Big White (Kelowna) - to name the few I know - you can fairly easily travel to Victoria to stalk LRR people. With cake, of course. :)

I'm just saying that my mom knows how to use teh internets - I dunno about yours. But it's never safe to underestimate the power and knowledge of a mother.

(Then again, due to knowing about LRR, my mom also knows where to look for me.)

Some people just don't like having to deal with people, and enjoy working with quiet things like numbers, and thus enjoy those kinds of jobs. Keep in mind too that a very large number of people dislike or even hate their jobs - not just accountants, but doctors, teachers, business-owners etc. (Surel...

The british don't have that whole "neither rain, nor sleet, nor hail, nor snow" thing? Then again, the american's don't really either. Actually, I think that is part of the slogan for the US and Canadian postal services, and perhaps that's exactly the problem. They'll try to get you your ...

Hey Bananafish, thanks for posting. Just made my small contribution to Haiti relief, mainly due to the fact that this thread reminded me and had such conveniently posted links. Wish I could say I had more of my own initiative, but there you are. Anyway, thank you.

Niko88, those are awesome!

I wrote down this wonderful quote during the cleanup after Desert Bus 2008, meaning to use it in some online write-up, but never did:

James: "You know what's really weird? I totally don't hate you all!"

As he posted earlier, it's baffling. :)

Do it. And if they say no, submit it somewhere else. I think it looks good, and at some point, whether immediately or later on down the road, someone in a position to actually market it will agree with me. There is no point leaving your art sitting around unviewed, is my opinion. Get it out there. B...

Wow, I'd never heard of such a thing before. I was quite fascinated by the whole concept and your write-up of the experience. I'm a fan of new experiences, even if they're weird or a bit silly. If I ever hear of a place near me that does this, I may have to try it.
