Re: Eleven Secret Herbs and Spices: Theme Decks

For a moment, I thought the title said 'Elven Herbs and Spices' instead of 'Eleven Herbs and Spices.' I though it was funny. More often than not, my decks wind up revolving around zombies or token generators. Every colour has methods to produce tokens, but red (goblins) and white (soldiers, angels, ...

Re: any fellow adventurers interested in Wow?

Were invite powers granted to all Runners? I've got an alt I'd like to have in the guild as well, and it doesn't appear anyone from the list of inviters is online.

I'm resubbed now. Started a Gnome Monk, because I thought it'd be funny.

Re: Upcoming changes to blocks and rotation...

I think it'll about even out in regards to planeswalkers; there won't be a big bunch printed at once in a core set once a year, but we'll see more sets that feature events relevant to their stories, resulting in more diversity and about the same amount numerically. That's just a guess, though.

Re: Upcoming changes to blocks and rotation...

The article does state that there are plans to produce new product targeted specifically at bringing new players into the game - stuff that isn't core sets or part of the Standard rotation, and therefore can be safely ignored by anyone more focused on competitive play. Also, excellent point about th...

Re: Upcoming changes to blocks and rotation...

There's a lot of relevant information in the article - I recommend reading it, and not just the summarized version. Among other things, this shift means standard will rotate out one block every six months, instead of every year. I'm curious as to whether this will increase the barrier to entry into ...

Re: any fellow adventurers interested in Wow?

Actually, since I'll be creating a new character for the guild, I suppose I can take some input on what to make. So... What makes? =P As stated before, I want to play a Worgen, but other than that, I have no particular attachment to any class. What would most benefit the guild currently?

Re: Lore: Which Planeswalker Would be the Most Fun to Hang W

I would want to have a long conversation with Karn about life, death, and the universe. I feel like he'd be wiser than the majority of people you'd meet in the multiverse, and the creation of Mirrodin is a subject I'm deeply curious about. That said, I don't think he fits the category of "most ...

That sounds like it'd be an Alliance Side/Horde Side split, if only to allow the teams to clash.

Re: any fellow adventurers interested in Wow?

I like the idea, but I work such a whacko schedule that I'd never be able to keep a set time to play. The joys of bartending! Aye, real life is always the bane of this particular idea. It's why the one team I did try to do this with never managed to do our all-Troll Druid group when the class becam...

Re: any fellow adventurers interested in Wow?

What are the odds of people wanting to roll a dedicated party? It's a concept I first heard about in CoH - a group of characters that only ever plays together, and plays at a set time each week.

Re: any fellow adventurers interested in Wow?

I'm torn between starting a new character for the guild, and playing one of my good ol' existing ones. I really liked my Death Knight, back in the day.

Also, the important question - Horde or Alliance? My preference is, by far, Horde.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

You apply the power and toughness setting effects in timestamp order. Because Gideon's ability was activated last, he'll be a 6/6 creature until end of turn, after which his power and toughness revert to whatever the effect that made him a creature says they should be.

Homemade Duel Deck/Clash Pack sets

A fairly simple question, and one that has no doubt been asked before, although I was unable to find a thread pertaining to it - Has anyone here ever made paired or grouped decks designed to play against each other? If so, how were they themed? Any special cards they used? I've done this once, mysel...

Re: Desert Bus Craft-Along 2014!

Looking good, Garfman! There is a space missing between 'kill' and 'any' in the second to last line of the Mantis Shrimp description card, and I'm not sure if you'd already caught that. Other than that, the critters look adorable. I think the frog is my personal favorite.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

Makes sense. Thank you for the clarification, philip - I'm trying to get better with layers and dependencies so that I can create some really silly combos. One more question: If I play a forest after setting up this board state, does it cause a recalculation of what's what for everything, or do the ...

Re: Foods What We Have Made And Eaten

One of the best ways to make a meal, in my opinion, is to start with leftovers. Last week, I finally made a recipe my girlfriend had really been wanting to try - chicken breasts braised in chicken stock, red wine, and a little honey, with carrot, onion, celery, sliced pears and green apples. It was ...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

A question of my own regarding layers. I think I know how this works, and I'd like to confirm. Let's say I played Ambush Commander , followed by Conspiracy naming Saprolings, and finally Life and Limb . If I'm correct about how layers are applied: ⋅  Life and Limb is dependent on Conspirac...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

This is a common misconception, owing to the fact that tokens can't exist outside the battlefield. All permanents, whether tokens or not, go to the graveyard if they die. The next time state based effects are checked (that is, anyone gets the opportunity to do anything), they cease to exist. Tokens ...
