Re: Boston attack
I live in the Boston area. (I'm ok; so is everyone I immediately know.) We're under lockdown here; the police have asked everyone to stay inside. I, and the people I've talked with, are not particularly frightened, it's just a bit surreal...the shooting that started last night's chase occurred direc...

Wow. Hope you get better soon, Paul. That sounds frightening, even if it's not painful and goes away after a while.
(I don't typically joke about stuff like this, but since you seem to be in a good humor about it, I'll mention that I thought of someone else with one eye that's always open...)

I was very much hoping for a Short Circuit reference as a throwaway line. I didn't notice any, but it's been quite a while since I've seen the movie so I might have missed it....
I agree that Jonny probably wouldn't be a very good head of state, though.

Apparently (according to Graham on Twitter), Rapidfire was filmed months ago. So it's either a massive coincidence, or LRR is just constantly filling things with cream....

I was expecting the last "Take the shot" clip to have Paul with a gun, but I wasn't sure exactly what you would do with it. (One possibility would be for him to shoot the gun promptly and coolly at James's first order...) Aside from that, the free-association detectives are always fun. :)

This is at least the second Checkpoint video that seems to have an all-green frame (at 3:52). Some sort of encoding issue, I'm assuming.... (Every time I see a brief flash, I have to step through the video to make sure it's this and not a subliminal message/single-frame joke, which I wouldn't put it...

Nice episode. I was vaguely aware of the existence of Honey Boo Boo, but didn't care enough to find out more--sounds like I made the right call... Yes. LoadingReadyRun is made up entirely of gorgeous people. Especially Paul . But it's disrespectful and creepy and rude that it seems that any time the female crew members are on-screen and AREN'T wearing a horrendous wig, there's always a torrent of comments lusting after their appearance. It's ...

The disguise is good, but I can tell Graham isn't a real dragon. Actual dragons are too proud to debase themselves by talking in silly internet memes.

I also didn't see the title sequence (where I fully expected to see "We're excited about our new couch/NEWS"). The audio was there, but it was just a few seconds of black.

Spot was fairly obvious in this one.... Andy was a good choice for the role...and I *still* can't believe they made a Battleship movie. I haven't seen it, though I have a fairly high tolerance for bad action movies so I suspect my reaction would be like Kathleen's. Note: I recognize that you're perf...

Re: LRRcast for Scout's Oil PAX Accountant
I agree that the LRR crew generally tend to have fairly mild/"neutral" accents, but I've noticed a few differences from the "generic midwestern US accent" that's common in US media--typically with vowel sounds. Most notably, Graham and Paul (and possibly others) pronounce the wor...

To my knowledge, I've never been smuggled.... (Was the misspelling of "reptile" intentional, or was it a typo?) There's an audio effect when Paul is making the 300-esque sound effects of french-fry assault. I'm guessing this is how you're holding the mic (it persists in the entire shot rat...

Re: How to Find Free Wifi
For those who haven't heard it, here's the actual story of "Free Public Wifi". Short version: it's due to an behavior in older versions of Windows XP to automatically join an ad-hoc network, and spreads somewhat like a virus (though it's not actually one).

"Mitt Romney"? Really? I'm not really a fan of his, but that was still quite jarring, and distracted me from the rest of the episode. Yes, I know it's "exaggeration" for comedic effect, but Ash casually sandwiched the name between Bin Laden and Hitler. Imagine the backlash if she...

Re: S2E4 - Beyond Infinity
Hmm, I see a couple of technical issues: 1) The name (as seen when you mouseover the video) seems to be Season 2, Episode 03 rather than episode 4. (The title above the video is correctly labeled.) 2) The segment where Graham talks about Infinity Blade (starting 2:03) seems quieter than the other se...
