There's also Burning Anger, though that's not a stand-alone enchantment (but it is still 1-sided fight).

Re: Tiny Leaders

Enough people I know nagged me about making a tiny leaders deck, so I threw one together out of cards I had lying around and cards that were cheap: Size Matters When You're Tiny , a deck where I'm running Temur colors precisely so that I can run all the hydras and also Vorel of the Hull Clade. What ...

Re: TTC 78 - Dragons Prerelease Report

Paul's Gatherer-fu during the show wasn't the best, as there are in fact a bunch more dragons that don't actually have Flying as an inherent ability - most have a means on the card to gain flying, and all of them have the word "flying" somewhere on the card itself, but not all of them are ...

Army of the Damned seems like it would be on theme. Also hilarious.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

Can I have Zurgo Helmsmasher and Zurgo Bellstriker on the field at the same time? What about Silumgar, the Drifting Death and Dragonlord silumgar under my control at the same time? What about if I had Jace Beleren and Jace, the Mind Sculptor on the field at the same time on my side? An addendum to ...

Re: (Non-Official) Official Dragons of Tarkir Spoiler Thread

I seriously see some bigtime dragon decks coming to EDH. Back when Fate Reforged was in spoiler season Scion of the Ur-Dragon went from a $2 card to like $15, then dropped back to around $12; since Dragons of Tarkir spoilers started it's already jumped up to $20. So yes, lots of folks are making tr...

Re: (Non-Official) Official Dragons of Tarkir Spoiler Thread

okay, Assault Formation wants me to: A) get back into magic B) Revive my old Tree of redemption/feed the pack deck with this card! Ha ha, it's scary enough that without any extra shenanigans, Tree of Redemption swings in for 13 with an Assault Formation in play, but since you can tap it to exchange...

Memo just listed all the Golgari commander options one might consider playable, but there is one more: Iname as One. You probably shouldn't use that one though, as it's not very good (great art at least).

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk

there's a ban list? Hell, now i gotta look over my current decklist. Right now the ban list for Tiny Leaders is around the same size as that of Commander. As for what's on it, it's basically a combination of the relevant banned cards from the Commander list (minus a few notable exceptions) mixed wi...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

So the new Manifest ability in Fate Reforged seems fun, the shell game shenanigans appeal to me, and it's a mechanic that's easy enough to grok in the context of the block, but it got me thinking: this is the first time Magic has ever had a "put any card from your library onto the battlefield f...

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk

Ooh, good one. :) THE best one for this is Mentor of the Meek, which I have in there, but if I don't get him, it burns out its hand fast. Since you're playing Teeg, I'd recommend Soul of the Harvest. He can get out a lot of cards, he's outside most burn range, and he kind of covers your top end nic...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

The moral to take away here is that the only way you're getting out of a swing for lethal without actually dying is to have a means of preventing that damage in the first place (all manner of fogs, blocking), an effect that replaces what would be a lethal attack with some other outcome instead (like...

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk

Thoughts on using Head Games in Commander? I'm ... not sure. On the one hand, you might be history's greatest monster. On the other hand, it's not that much worse than standard discard effects. Though I suppose if you used something like Cyclonic Rifts or Retraction Helix to bounce all their stuff,...

And hopefully some way (ninjitsu?) to get those big fliers out earlier ... Ninjutsu, as cool as it is, isn't going to do that for you - none of the creatures with ninjutsu have flying (natively anyways, Sakashima's Student is a clone so that could have whatever you're copying has). There are a bunc...

Re: Commander/EDH Deck Talk

Put a Curiosity on Firemind late enough in the game and win. Earlier in the game you can eliminate two opponents before you risk milling yourself. At that point you have to crack an elixir of immortality or similar so you can do it some more the next turn. Oh, that's nasty . You can also run Ophidi...

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

When an ability lets you cast something without paying the mana cost, unless you could also cast that spell without using the ability (such as having Omniscience in play and deciding not to cast an X-spell you have in your hand for free, as Omniscience is a "may" ability), you are basicall...

Yeah, Homeward Path is probably a good idea if your theme is "Voltron-up Karona", but man do I ever hate that card if I'm playing any of my decks that have blue in them; stealing creatures is my jam and it's soooooo annoying when people stick that into decks that aren't even building aroun...

A funny little story from last Friday. Only one other person showed up to FNM, so we just decided to play Commander instead. The employ of the store joined in after a couple matches of me beating my opponant's mill deck senseless with turn 3 Haste Krenko. He ran his usual Kaervek deck and managed t...

He's not a zombie himself, but running Lim-Dûl the Necromancer as the general of a mono-black zombie tribal deck just oozes with flavor, as his abilities let you raise your opponents creatures as zombies to fight for you, and regenerate zombies.

Re: Magic the Gathering: Ask a Judge

If a token gets Undying and doesn't have a +1/+1 counter on it, it still doesn't come back due to SBAs eliminating it once it hits the graveyard, right? I'm assuming the Undying trigger still goes on the stack, but fizzles due to having no target. Also, if a non-token creature somehow has both Undy...

We adhere pretty strictly to "the rules" at the venue I play Commander at (with the sole exception of the one guy the shop owner lets use the Nephilim as generals), so there will be no non-sanctioned planeswalker commanders round these here parts. Thank goodness.

The other rituals would be fine, but you can't actually run Manamorphose in a Narset EDH deck, as that's a hybrid R/G card and Narset only allows the Jeskai colors.
